Eastwood 6 Inch Dual Action Air Palm Sander is rated 4.88 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good Item for the price. This sander is light, powerful and very smooth operating. I can not complain about anything for the short time I have used it (i hour). It is fairly low on vibration which makes it easy to navigate around the body lines of vehicle I am working on. I oiled it before adding air, it did not turn....just made a hissing sound. A little nudge got it going and it seemed fine from there on. It fits well and comfortably in my hand which should allow lots of use without fatigue. ControllingAfter I have used this sander for at least 10 hours I will update my review...to this point it looks very good and I would recommend this sander to others. the speed is also effortless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome deal! Great product as is most of Eastwood Pulled it from the box, dropped a few squirts of air tool oil and started sanding. This tool does the trick, it never bogs down or stops, uses very little air to get the results you need. I own a DA sander but it is for a bigger compressor. This is a very nice tool for the price. All the others I looked at were at least twice the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great I am an autobody hobbyist and bought this sander due to the low cfm requirements. I am running it on a Husky 33 gallon, 1.5HP compressor at 90psi at the tank. My small compressor is able to keep up with continuous sanding. I haven't used it much so I can't comment on longevity of the sander but it seems to be well made for the price. There is a post below saying it is a 5 inch sander, which it isn't. It has a 5.5 inch pad, which is standard. I plan on buying the Concours paint gun as well due to low cfm requirements.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from very effective! i just received my sander yesterday and used it for the first time today. After borrowing my brothers ingersol rand da i was shocked when this Eastwood da actually performed better. as long as the performance continues i will be very happy using this for home auto restoration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from is a 5" sander not a 6" I like this sander. But it is labeled as a 6" but the one I got is a 5"sander. I bought 6" sanding disc's for it from Eastwood. Which are to big for the pad. Eastwood needs to fix the label for the sander. All in all it is a good sander. I can't wait to get to the body work on my Monte. Eastwood Note: We found a small batch that had the incorrect pad coupled with the sander. Please send us an email at: orderhelp@eastwood.com for the correct replacement pad if you had that problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good. In all fairness, I have yet to put this to work. I did check to see how it worked with my compressor. My compressor says that it will provide 3.8 CFM @90 PSI. Frankly I believe the manufacturer is exercising a slight amount of hyperbole there. Regardless, my compressor was not able to keep up with the first Dual Action Palm Sander I bought (not from Eastwood). I reluctantly returned it thinking that was that, as I was not inclined to buy another compressor. I came across this Sander and noticed the lesser volume of air it requires. So that, so far, is what I tested – it passed with flying colors. My only dislike is that if you lose the thin flat wrench that comes with it, you are not going to have an easy time of changing pads – so don’t lose it! I wish it had a smarter setup in that regard. But hey, for the price the value is terrific.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice! Don't be fooled by the low price. These sanders work as well as others costing 2 or 3 times the price. We use them for jitterbug finishing stainless steel parts in a metal fab shop and they're great. Wish there was an option for a 5" PSA pad as the smaller sizer is easier to get in tight spots but they're easy to change out and we stock them. We'll be ordering more!

My compressor is only rated at 2.4 cfm @ 90psi.  No go on this sander?

Asked by: Esilassy
You'll be able to use any air tool with nearly any compressor, regardless of CFM output, the queston is just "for how long can I use the tool without having to stop and wait for the compressor to catch up?" This DA will operate on your compressor as long as it can supply the 90 psi that it requires, but if you're using it for a long period of time, your compressor will not keep up with the tool. You'll have to stop occasionally and wait for the compressor to fill the tank with air again, or else the tool will begin to run slowly.

Is this sander a 3/32 orbit or is it more aggressive?

Asked by: tjc39d
We don't have information about the exact orbit distance, but it is a typical "painter's DA", which is far less aggressive than the handle-type "body man's DA". This sander is appropriate for all paint prep and finishing applications.
