Copper Welding Backer
Received along with other items I will be leaving reviews for. I was a little dissapointed to open the plactic wrap that the Copper Backer was in, thinking there has got to be more to this than I thought. Had to go back to the item number an look it over a little more. I was under the impression I would receive two pieces of copper for the money spent, but it soon became obvious that there was only one piece, about 8" x 2" in size. The little dots or dimples are the magnets that hold the copper to the back of the metal surface you will be weldiing to. As we all know, you can't weld copper with a wire mig welder using argon. It does make a perfect back plate and prevents loss of welding material and the problem of burning holes into the welded item. Next time I just need to read the item description closer. My bad, but very expensive for what you get. The magnets are a must, so I believe it to be a trade off.

Magnet no longer
I bought a set of these backer panels, haven't used all of them and they have already lost their magnetic properties. When the were new, they worked great, but I never expected them to die so soon.
