Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job! I have ordered the 90 grit 50 lb twice. Works great, cleaned up the surface rusted car frame. This is 50 lb so the price is comparable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powder and Dust Free I should have used this a long time ago. It makes blasting in half the time of sand. Great for anyone who wants clean metal and a dust free sand blaster. I will be a repeated customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good source for sandblast media After reading some positive reviews on a few forums I decided to give east woods blast media a try... It's consistant and works well. So far I've used it on steel, and glass. The results are exactly what I was hoping for. Delivery was fast and as well. Two thumbs up.

Questions & Answers

Is this a good media to use on body panels ?

Asked by: Ben10
Aluminum oxide 90 Grit(13792) is an excellent abrasive and will strip paint and rust from panels. Due to cost Aluminum Oxide 90&60 grit is More commonly use in a blast cabinet where it can be used over and over. A more economical and effective media would be Ground Glass 40/70 grit(13779) which is rated for rust and paint removal. If heat and panel warping are a concern you may want to consider Walnut shell Media(12/20 grit(22018) which is very good at paint removal and is must cooler on the surface.

This media should be fine for the application/ system being referenced but you will want to double check with the manufacturer.

can I use this media through the speed Blaster that I bought from you?

Asked by: Lucky
The Speed Blaster recommends 60-80-grit media, so this may not work. I would recommend the 22021 60 Grit Aluminum Oxide in your Speed Blaster. https://www.eastwood.com/blast-media-aluminum-oxide-50-lb.html

I do cerakote on firearms, will this product cause pitting on aluminum frames?  Also, is there a lot of dust with this product?  Thank you.

Asked by: Anonymous
We would recommend a more gentle blasting media for aluminum such as Glass bead. We have 70-100 grit which is a very popular grit for aluminum.

Cant find the answer to my question on the MSDS sheet. Is this safe to use outdoors in a driveway (assuming the majority of the product will not be able to be swept up during blasting of an entire car body)? Dont want to hurt the environment too much.

Asked by: GrantD
Yes, this would be safe to utilize outdoors.

Is there any special preparation for paint after blasting with aluminum oxide? Still see crystal like particles on the metal..

Asked by: Td91
After blasting with aluminum oxide just wipe down the surface with acetone to remove any leftover media on the piece.
