Eastwood ARC200i Stick Welder is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power and portability are excellent I have an Eastwood MG175, a Versacut60, another brand TIG/Stick welder, a flux-core wire welder, and a 52 year old tombstone AC stick welder that I use for heavy plate and structural steel welding. Bought this little welder so I could run 7014, 7018, 6011, 308, etc at 100 to 150 amps and do it up in a Genie boom. The ARC200i allow me to weld in places I couldn't reach with my 150 pound tombstone welder. Does a good job of holding the arc over a long pass. with the 40 ft extension cord I don't have to be near the shop outlets or my generator to get the job done.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from First experience with inverter welder good. I recently purchased this welder to fab/repair items around the shop and to relearn stick welding that I had learned a long time ago. This unit works really well with 6013 and 7018. It seems to be a little wild with 6011 but that could just be me. A great welder if you're old school like me....it's simple and straightforward. I'd buy it again....but wait for Eastwoods sales and you could get it at 10 percent off with free shipping. The reason I have it a 4 is because inverter welders are a lot newer technology than the old A.C. buzzboxes that will last forever...time will tell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Welder I have used several stick welders through out my welding career and I will have to say that for a small lunch box sized stick welder this thing has some serious power. I just received mine in the mail and right out of the box I was able to stack dimes with a 1/8'' 7018 rod on 1/2 power. I also added the tig torch upgrade which has a surprisingly strong arc and lays some really nice beads for a $250 tig/stick machine.

Will a 30 amp 220 circuit power the welder ok?  Will it run 6010 or 6011 rod ok?

Asked by: Potshot
This welder will require a 50 amp circuit to function properly. It will have no problem running 6010 and 6011.

Duty Cycle

The rated Duty cycle refers to the amount of welding that can be done within an amount of time. The Eastwood ARC200i has a duty cycle of 15% at 200 Amps. It is easiest to look at your welding time in blocks of 10 Minutes and the Duty Cycle being a percentage of that 10 Minutes. If welding at 200 Amps with a 15% Duty Cycle, within a 10 Minute block of time you can weld for 1-1/2 Minutes with 8-1/2 Minutes of cooling for the welder.

If the Duty Cycle is exceeded, the Welder will automatically shut off, however the fan will continue running to cool the overheated components. When a safe temperature has been reached, the Welder will automatically switch the welder output back on. To increase the duty cycle you can turn down the Amperage Output control.
