Rated 1 out of 5 by from You pay for what you get I got this helmet January 1st and was excited to use an auto darkening helmet for once in my life. Being a welder that welds at least 15 hours a week it worked well for the first month or two. After I used up all of my replacement lenses I found that you cannot order any more. Also after about three months the helmet started to malfunction on me and the auto darkening lens would stop working which ended up giving me flash burn. I wouldn't recommend this hood to anyone using it more than an hour or two a month.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money Great helmet but Eastwood don't sell replacement protective lenses for them. Eastwood actually suggested I buy a complete new helmet to get lenses as they have no intention of stocking them. Come on Eastwood the lenses are a consumable item and you need to step up and service what you sell !!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from plastic I bought the welding helmet. I just retired and needed to weld in my garage, so I bought a tig. The helmet was packed nicely and came with my other items sooner than expected. It fell off the welding table and cracked...no problem, I just used some duct tape. The auto darkening works great. Why wasnt this around when I was working! I don't think this would stand up to commercial use because of the plastic quality, but for my hobby use.... ITS PERFECT

Rated 5 out of 5 by from first time: auto darkening helmet Except that I was charged for shipping, when that was supposed to be free (using code HPP114), I'm happy thus far. I've never used one of these before so I have nothing to compare it to as far as quality, and have only been using it a couple of weeks. However, starting with the manual's recommended settings: 1. It darkens quickly enough I haven't been flashed yet. After welding, it lightens back up almost instantly. 2. helmet is very light weight 3. head strap is comfortable, and tilt adjustment (so it stays up) actually works properly. 4. Faceplate: I really wanted a helmet with a larger viewing area, but since I can now easily line up my bifocals, the rod tip, the face plate, and the work piece before I strike the arc, the 'normal-sized' viewing area in the face plate on this helmet is not an issue. 5. Plain-old blue color; none of that flames and skulls nonsense. I like that. I give it 5 stars for price (on sale), 5 stars for value, and 4 stars for quality, only because I haven't had it long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! I've had the helmet about a month, and no problems whatsoever. Came with extra lenses, too. For the price, it's very nice. No gripes at all.
