Eastwood SEMA Experience

Here you will find all of the coverage of Eastwood's trip to SEMA. This includes the hot cars, coolest products, and anything else interesting we find!

  • SEMA 2012- Eastwood Company Part 1 Coverage

Today is the first official day of the 2012 SEMA Show and we are as excited as ever. Walking through the first few rows of the hottest cars, trucks and bikes tell us that the automotive hobby is as strong as ever. We spent day one walking around spotting out some of the top cars at the show. Some exciting rides are here from the best car builders in the world. We go the pleasure of getting some first glimpses of Kevin Tetz's Project "Jaded" Mustang. This thing is oozing Eastwood products and we're excited to see it in the metal!

This year the hot new trend seems to be large oversized wheels on custom classic cars and trucks. We're still on the fence with the look of the vehicles with such large wheels.. but you can't deny they stand out!

Also the '40 Ford; built for the 2012 Street Rodder Road Tour is on display in the Ford Booth and we're thrilled to see a car built with Eastwood tools to be on such a main stage! We'll be doing an interview with Troy Ladd of Hollywood Hot Rods later this week to get some insight on how they utilized some of products to build the '40.

Day 2 is already upon us and we're out there searching for the best rides to showcase for YOU. If there's anything you want to see, drop us a line and we'll try and seek one out! Make sure you check out the full feed from the show with updates hourly at www.eastwood.com . We promise you'll feel like you're almost right there walking the show with us!

  • Eastwood Receives the Editors Choice Award from Popular Mechanics

One of the tough parts of being a product designer is that a LOT of your hard work goes unnoticed. No one remembers the hours spent designing, testing, and tweaking to get a product fit to go into production. Luckily we have a great group of guys that do this stuff not only because it pays the bills, but also because they love what they are doing. Our own J.R. had one of his newest products here at Eastwood get some limelight from the Editors at Popular Mechanics Magazine when they picked the Eastwood "Aerosol Injection" system for a 2011 SEMA Editors Choice Award. We are over the moon about this most recent notoriety, and can't wait for our first batch to hit your hands. It really will make countless jobs in the shop, and around the house much easier. I know you'll find new uses for it everyday!

Watch this space and our homepage for the full launch of our two new Aerosol Injection products late this year. It's a must have!

  • Eastwood SEMA 2011 Day Five

Today was the last day of the show and we were still spotting cars we hadn't seen! Some of the most interesting cars we spotted included a modern "Goat" made out of one of the new Chevy Camaros. Our Facebook fans had mixed feelings on it, but overall we think it was pretty "neat"!

We had a great time and have a ton of footage to edit and post from the show, so watch this space and our Facebook page for the footage we will be posting in the upcoming weeks. Thanks for watching!

  • Eastwood SEMA 2011 Coverage Day Four

Today was extremely busy at the show, word has spread about our Popular Mechanics Editors Choice Award and they were all checking out the new products we have in the pipeline. Overall it seems like everyone was very impressed and we are excited to launch it all to the public here shortly!

We are still blown away how many of the top SEMA show cars have Eastwood products on them! We have a bunch of show car video features in the works. Keep an eye out here, Facebook, and our YouTube channel for more on these cool rides!

One of my favorite customs from the show was Chip Foose's custom Gull-winged Mercedes 300SL. The attention to detail and finish on this car was mind blowing. I spent quite a bit of time checking it out and it is pretty much perfect!

Here are the highlights from where we walked. You will notice quite a variety in these!

Day Four at SEMA 2011 and man is this place packed! We really hope that the turnout at the show this year is a reflection of how on-the-rise the automotive market is, especially customs and restos. Today we had Kevin Tetz from Trucks! stop by and we let him have one of the first chances to preview our new products coming out for 2012.
