Everyone made it, and even our bags made it! Fresh off the plane, we got to meeting our friends over at V8TV to shoot a quick intro video to our SEMA blog. We then breezed through the show floor to get a sneak peak of the booths "to watch" as they were set up. I snapped off a few pictures for everyone. I can already tell there is going to be some pretty awesome stuff displayed this year!
Enjoy the video and pictures, and let me know if you want to see anything in particular!
The Eastwood Company Announces
The Winner of the Dream Ride Tour Contest
Winner to Drive Five Exotic Sports Cars in One Day
And Attend the SEMA Show in Las Vegas
October 28, 2010 – Pottstown, PA – Tom Shinn has been tinkering with cars since he was 13 years old. He said that he was totally amazed to find out that he was the winner of Eastwood’s Dream Ride Tour Contest and that he would be leaving for Las Vegas next week to attend the SEMA Show and then have a day of driving exotic cars.
“At 54, I’m as excited as a kid to be going to the SEMA show and spending a day driving five dream cars, including Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorana, Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, Aston Martin V8 Vantage or Corvette Z06,” Mr. Shinn said.
When Shinn decided to enter the contest he thought to himself, “Why not. These cars and the SEMA show would be an event that any car guy would love. This is a once in a lifetime thrill.” In fact, he mentioned, that this is the best thing that has happened to him since he got married.
As an Eastwood customer, he’s been restoring cars since the early 70’s, everything from Muscle cars, trucks, 4x4’s and motorcycles. “There is not a car that exists that I’m not interested in,” Shinn noted. He’s used the Eastwood Powder Coating kit and says, “the system is great.”
Shinn’s enthusiasm with cars and motorcycles began young as he tinkered with bicycles - changing, modifying and customizing before becoming a teenager. “Growing up on a farm and restoring and repairing things were just a part of life,” Shinn noted.
Eastwood’s Anniversary Dream Ride Tour contest randomly chose one grand prize winner, Tom Shinn. He will be flown from New Jersey to Las Vegas where he and his wife will enjoy an unforgettable four-day, three night stay filled with once in a lifetime opportunities.
Eastwood will be exhibiting at the SEMA show, which draws the industry's hottest products and attracts over 100,000 industry leaders from 100 countries featuring performance, accessories, restoration and motor sports products.
Eastwood will also have four new products in the New Product Display area. These include:
1. Fuel Guard Additive - combat damage caused by Ethanol blended gasoline: http://tiny.cc/EastwoodFuelGuard
2. Internal Frame Coating - formulated to convert and encapsulate the rust INSIDE frame http://tiny.cc/InternalFrameCoating
3. Thermo-Coustic Barrier - results in an easily installed, muffled sound with a heat resistant auto interior: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2010/08/prweb4362614.htm
4. Dual Voltage Powder Gun - capability to coat small areas using Low 15kv setting or coat large areas using High voltage setting 25kv

For anyone that is into restoring, modifying, or making a car look cool, the place to be early November is in Las Vegas for the SEMA show. This show is for all of the movers, shakers, and "up and comers" in the automotive aftermarket. Once inside, it's almost common place to be rubbing elbows with celebs (try not to spill your coffee on Chip Foose!). Unfortunately for most of the auto community, this event is for people in the "industry" only. This means that you need an "in" with a business or company to get into the show.
Luckily for everyone stuck at home this year, I am going to be posting live from the show to give you updates on whats hot, new, and exciting this year at the show. I also am asking for YOU the Eastwood reader, to feel free to tell me what YOU want to see. So if there is a hot new product or show car you've hear rumors of being there.. let me know, and I'll do my best to track it down and snap some shots for everyone!
Lastly, keep an eye out for videos and an interview with our "Eastwood Vegas Dream Ride Tour" contest winner Tom Shinn. This will be his first SEMA experience, and we want to get his thoughts on the entire SEMA show, and his favorite cars and booths from the show!
So let me know what you want to see, and I'll try to work my magic to make it feel like you are right there hobnobbing with other well-known motor heads!
Check for my first post sometime Monday early evening! Also keep an eye on our Facebook page for mobile uploads directly from the show, never know who I might see or run into (hopefully without spilling anything on them)!
