  • Wouldn't you love to go to the SEMA Show in Vegas? Here’s how you can...

    Las Vegas sign

Just because the 2012 SEMA Show isn’t open to the public doesn't mean you can't attend!

That's because you can enter to win 2 tickets to the SEMA show, PLUS airfare, 4 nights accommodation and $500 spending money, when you visit Chief Automotive Technologies' Facebook page! You'll learn all the details there, including how to earn bonus entries.

Why would you want to go to the SEMA show, held in Las Vegas between October 30 and November 2, 2012?

Hey, it's Vegas, baby! Isn't that reason enough? Yeah, but the SEMA Show is also the world's premier automotive specialty products trade event. The show draws the automotive industry’s brightest minds and hottest products to one place. You'll especially love the "New Products Showcase", where you'll find all the latest innovations—especially Eastwood's new creations!

Good luck! If you win, be sure to look for one of us wearing an Eastwood badge as you work your way around the show!

Contest ends 11:59 pm (Eastern), Sept. 23, 2012.

  • 2012 Macungie Das Awkscht Fescht Highlights

As mentioned in our last post about Crosleys Being Featured at Das Awkscht Fescht 2012, we stopped by the show to get some footage of what the event is all about. Das Awkscht Fescht has a great laid-back vibe and Macungie, PA has the small-town-USA atmosphere that we love, so it's become one of our favorite shows of the year. Swap meet vendors and enthusiasts start showing up as early as Wednesday or Thursday and by Friday the fields are starting to fill up. Show goers quickly find their favorite shady spot to sit and talk cars for the day. We're always excited to see what sort of rare collectible vehicles show up each year. This year was no different, especially with the Crosley club coming together to put on a great display. Check out some of our pics and the video above to see what you're missing if you aren't hitting this show!

  • More than just athletes on display at the London Olympics

    BMW art car jeff koons

Walking around London during the Olympics, you'd expect to see all sorts of interesting people from every corner of the world (well, maybe not Antarctica; I don't think they have a track team this year).

As an Eastwood customer, though, you're more into noticing all the different vehicles you might see during this international gathering. So you'd sprint right past the Men's 110m Hurdles venue and make a beeline to Shoreditch to enjoy the BMW collection of its 18 "Art Cars"—racing cars painted by famous artists.

No, they didn't use Eastwood Concours spray guns (as far as I know!), nor did they use our Candeez paints, but it's still cool to see what a well-known artist can do with a racing car as a canvas! You may have heard of a few of these guys: Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Alexander Caldor and more. (My favorite paint job is on the 2010 BMW M3 GT2, by Jeff Koons; see it above, and read about it here.)

But if you just can't make it to London this year, you can see a photo gallery of the cars here.

I guess you can watch the Men's 110m Hurdles on tape delay when you're done.

  • 2012 Street Rodder 40 Ford Road Tour Car Debuted

The last time we checked in on the Street Rodder 40 Ford build, the crew at Hollywood Hot Rods was putting the final touches on the car and tuning the engine.

Recently Street Rodder debuted the car at the Hollywood Hot Rods headquarters in Burbank, CA. They kept the guests baited by keeping the car covered up until after Troy Ladd and the SR crew said a few words. We were lucky enough to get a few behind-the-scenes shots of the event.

All in all the car came out great and the roof chop that Troy and his crew performed with the help of Eastwood Metal Fabrication Tools looked spot-on. The metallic paint was flawless and the Ford Racing V8 sounded fantastic through those individual throttle bodies!

Jerry Dixey is a lucky man and by now is already cruising the west coast in the Ford on the first legs of the 2012 Street Rodder Road Tour. Make sure you watch this space for full coverage as Eastwood and Street Rodder kick off the East Coast leg of the Road Tour at the annual Eastwood Summer Classic on July 14th! If you're local make sure you cruise out and see some of the best classic cars in the Mid-Atlantic and catch some great deals on Eastwood products!

  • Barrett Jackson 2012 Scottsdale, AZ

This weekend is one that many car guys take some time away from the garage wrenching on their projects and gather around the glow of their TV to watch the annual Barrett Jackson Scottsdale Auction. Some of us watch to drool over some of the rarest cars on the earth, while others watch to see how well a car similar to theirs sells. I'd say that I fall into the first group. I like to hear the stories behind some of these special cars, and how they made their way to the auction.

Some people may not realize, but the Barrett Jackson auctions aren't just for super cars and million dollar classics. If you look at the Auction Docket, you will see everything from "boring normal cars" to tractors, campers, and motorcycles. Don't let the TV networks fool you, there is something for everyone at these auctions!

Below are a few of my favorite vehicles going up for auction this year. I can't wait to see what they go for, and what else is going to go across the auction block! Have a guess what any of these special cars will sell for? Post up your predictions!

When was the last time you saw one of these at your local cruise-in?

How about a famed 50's concept car?

Or lastly, maybe you prefer a replica of the 1939 Indianapolis 500 Pace Car?
