      "I drive a school bus part time. I'm a disabled OIF Veteran. My wife is currently serving. I have a 1956 Buick Super that I have been working on for over a year but its got a long way to go! The shock mounts on the rear are busted off so it bounces with the wind! The transmission leaks so bad Im afraid to drive it and risk burning it up. Everything I have done to it has been on the cheap(spray can primer, blankets for seat covers). I would love to have the Super drive-able so I could have family outings in it. Not asking for full custom, just drive-able." -Craig Bresley

    • America's 5 Greatest Muscle Cars...Do You Agree?

      You know how it is when you're at a car show...you're shooting the bull with the boys when the discussion gets around to muscle cars. Everyone's got an opinion on what the top American muscle cars are, and each muscle car fan has his or her own "list".

      But I came across this list on the SenseTheCar.com blog, and to me it's hard to argue with the choices (as long as it's not listed in any particular order!).

      The cars are listed below. If you disagree, feel free to give us your list in the comments section below.

      After the seam was welded, Gene and the crew went ahead and made a new panel for the one rear corner to make it all fit seamlessly.     • Street Rodder Radio and Eastwood Announce 2013 Road Tour Car Build

      For the past two years we've been sponsoring the Street Rodder Road Tour and our Eastwood Summer Classic has been the kickoff event for the eastern leg of the tour. Recently we just inked the deal to once again become the official tools sponsor of the 2013 Street Road Tour build. This year the guys at Honesty Charley's Garage will be building the 2013 road tour car. The base car this year is a 1951 Ford that's in less than ideal shape.

      While at the 2012 SEMA show Brian Brennan of Street Rodder Magazine and Street Rodder Radio interviewed myself about last year's road tour car and we covered what's going into the 2013 car. We've already sent a large care package down south to Honesty Charley's Garage for the 51 Ford, and I'm sure more will be on its way soon. They'll be fabricating patch panels and performing some custom metal work on the car with our Pro Hammer and Dolly Kit, Economy Bead Roller, Versa Bend Metal Brake, Panel Beater Sandbag, and Plastic Metal Forming Mallets, and much more.

      Even though we're "officially" the tools sponsor of this car, the team asked our help in the fight against rust. Since they need to treat and seal many rusty areas on the car, they asked us to send them some of our innovative paints and chemicals. We were happy to oblige. They'll be sealing up and protecting hidden and boxed areas of the '51 Ford with our Internal Frame Coating, and treating just about the entire car and chassis with our famous line of Rust Encapsulator. You can be sure that the car will be free of ANY rust or corrosion; these guys mean business!

      Once the crew gets a little further along on the build they'll need to reassemble the car and turn it back into a roadworthy vehicle. For those mechanical projects they'll be using the full line of Eastwood Hand Tools. They'll be some of the first professionals to get their hands on our new ratchets, sockets, screwdrivers, ratcheting wrenches, aviation metal snips, and anything else a serious "wrencher" needs in their toolbox!

    • SEMA 2012- Eastwood Company Part 4 Coverage

      Getting noticed at SEMA is very important. Show cars, trucks, and motorcycles are there for only a couple reasons. Either to show off products the company sells or to draw attention and get foot traffic through their booth (this is a trade show after all!). Whatever the reason is, everyone is trying to a different approach to draw attention. If you want to figure out which cars or booths are the best at the show, all you need to do is look for crowds around a booth. There you'll find either an exceptionl car, a celebrity, or an attractive model; regardless you won't be disappointed if you take a peak.

      Shooting pictures of some of the high profile cars at SEMA is really tough. There's always crowds surrounding the cars and often people are so excited about checking the car out, they're oblivious to the line of photographers waiting for that small window when they can fire off a few shots of the car. I can tell you from personal experience, it takes a mix of patience, skill and luck! The custom ford above is a perfect example. It had the performance of a super car and the looks of a classic muscle car all blended together to create what I'd call a "retro super car". The crowds were relentless around this car and we had to make our way into the show early just to check it out beforehand.

      Then there were cars and booths that were built just for shock value to get the attention of the thousands of cameras in attendance. The typical formula for a busy booth is to get a vehicle with some flashy/shiny paint, lots of chrome, some giant wheels, and a beautiful model standing next to the vehicle. Hyundai and an artist teamed up to take this idea to the next level and they built a Zombie support vehicle out of a new Hyundai. They then employed some attractive (is that possible?) zombies to pose with the car and show-goers! This idea was pretty cool and timely for the SEMA show taking place around the Halloween holiday each year.

      Aside from the gimmicks and crowds, there were some really nice classic cars at the show. We tried to catch some of our favorites shown below in the Mopar display. They put together one of the nicest selections of Dodge, Plymouth, and Chrysler classics we've seen in a while! Check the rest of our favorites from this portion of the show in the gallery below.
