This innovative system will allow you to achieve the benefits of powder coating small parts instead of coating them with paint. All you need is a compressed air source (5-10 PSI from a portable tank with a regulator or a compressor), and an electric oven or toaster oven. The Hot Coat system should only be used in a clean, dry, well-ventilated work area! A dedicated electric oven should be used. This kit inc. corona application gun, power unit (requires 115 VAC 60hz. grounded outlet),activator switch and complete instructions. Imported.

Metal-2-Metal (10021 ZP) will easily fill surface defects and withstand the heat of curing. The pack of 30 High Temp Silicone Plugs (10078) fit holes from 1/8" to 1", and are also used to support pieces in oven during curing. The High Temp Masking Tape (10027) prevents powder deposits on threads or other critical tolerance areas. It doens't get gummy, like regular masking tape will when exposed to the curing process, and leaves a finer parting line. Use un-coated wire like our Stainless Steel.041" Safety Wire (43045) when hanging parts for coating and curing.
For improved flow out (less orange peel) bake coated parts at 500 degrees F until powder flows out (about 3-4 minutes for light sheet metal parts), then turn down the heat to 400 degrees F for a full 15 minutes. The High Performance Deflector (10128) greatly improves transfer efficiency. Use the Standard Deflector for getting powder in recessed areas.
Use Disposable Dust Mask (22055) when handling or applying powder. Powder, like common flour, suspended in the air in high concentrations can be explosive. To minimize any explosion risk - sweep up, do not vacuum powder from the floor. Cure powder in a well ventilated area. The urethane powders we sell liberate a very minute amount of isocyanates when the powder flows out. This usually occurs about 3-5 minutes after the part is placed in the oven to bake. Wear a respirator, like our Professional Respirator (34029) with fresh cartridges when curing or inspecting flow out progress.
