Steering Wheel Restoration Kit includes:
1/2 lb of PC-7 Epoxy (52195)
aerosol can of PRE Painting Prep (10041Z or 11949z Low VOC)
aerosol can of Self-Etching Primer (16014Z) and instructions

Review manual for steering wheel removal. Wash wheel with dish washing detergent and rinse. Once dry wipe wheel down with PRE Painting Prep. Us a a triangular file to "V" out crack down to metal frame. Mix equal parts of "A" and "B" epoxy PC-7 sufficient to fill defect/s. Press PC-7 into cracks and smooth with a finger dipped in water. Allow repair to fully harden overnight. Sand repair areas by hand with 220 proceeding to 320 grit abrasive paper. Wipe wheel with PRE Painting Prep and handle with clean disposable gloves. Apply Self-Etching Primer per label directions to fill minor imperfections and topcoat.
Use an additional can of (52195) 1/2 lb. PC-7 or (52047) 1 lb. PC-7 as necessary to repair larger areas. If the steering rim needs extensive repairs you may want to consider a rim transplant. See the Steering Wheel Repair Book (52017) for this and other techniques.

Single stage epoxy paints like our Chassis Black do not adhere well to the Single-Stage Self Etching Primer we sell. Our Gloss Chassis Black paint(10000Z) however works great in this application.
