Rated 4 out of 5 by from Epoxy Repair This product works exactly as the description describes.I do recommend using this product in a 70 degree temperature(or above)setting for faster results.Instructions explain to start sanding with 220 grit and step up to 320,depending if you have any experience doing Bondo work, you can start with 80 grit with a block to sand the high area then step up by using 180 grit, then use 320 grit for your finish work.I recommend using a 2K primer before painting

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as advertised It is advertised as a "complete steering wheel restoration kit" but doesn't include paint. It should be renamed "steering wheel repair kit". A bit misleading.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product Bought this product to redo my steering wheel on my '63 Chevy Nova, product was easy to use, instructions really made it easy to follow the step by step, just need to me really patience when filling the cracks and not overfill, otherwise, you will have to sand the area down for some time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from steering wheel repair kit The product itself is great and does as advertised. The problem is they give you way too much material. My steering wheel is probably typical of most wheels that need repair, a couple of pretty good cracks on the spokes and two or three more places around the perimeter of the wheel. If I used 1-2% of the epoxy I would be surprised. Literally, could repair dozens of steering wheels with the amount of product that I have left over. Seems very wasteful but evidently smaller kits are not offered. Too bad!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Used this product about 2 years ago on a cracked up steering wheel with pieces missing. I used the product as directed, currently shows no sign of cracks or any other defects.

What paint is recommended for use on steering wheels?

Asked by: allenw
We recommend using an interior vinyl paint

What color choices do you have to finish the steering wheel in? Mine is not black. It's that kind of yellowish bakelite material. Will these kits do big cracks, say 1/4" to 1/2" width.

The repair compound will allow rebuilding large cracks and missing material. In regards to color, the interior dyes we offer work well on steering wheels. Another option that I have personally used is spraying the steering wheel basecoat/clearcoat. http://www.eastwood.com/paints/interior-dyes.html
