Looking for something that will spray and finish out like the LineX brand.  How does this compare.  I do not want it to end up like the Rhino brand finish.  Also is black the only answer?  I would like to be able to color match as well.  Thanks,

Unfortunately, we do not have a comparison of how this finishes compared to LineX. In regards to color, this product can be topcoated without sanding using singel stage or basecoat/clearcoat after 2 hours of application and before 48 hours of dry time.

Can you use any eastwood rust products first such as converter or encapsulator? Do you need any other prep after using them?

Asked by: JonJ
USC recommends sanding the surface with 40-120 grit, wiping with a wax and grease remover (PRE will work well) and to prime any bare metal areas with epoxy primer. If you have rust areas, Rust Converter &/or Rust Encapsulator can be used to treat those areas first and when thoroughly dry, top coated with epoxy primer before applying Defender.

Can this be used on laminated fiberglass? I would like to used this to "undercoat" a pair of fiberglass front fenders & rear steel wheel tubs and fiberglass flares on a Jeep Wagoneer. Would this be better than using a undercoating product for that ?

Yes, it can be used over fiberglass like that. I'd suggest roughing up the surface with 80 grit or rougher before spraying the bed liner for the best adhesion. It would be far more durable than a standard undercoating.
