Eastwood 50 lb Soda Blaster is rated 2.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK This blaster worked pretty good at first. I have had to splice the hose three times now do to it busting a leak. I keep the pressure around 80lbs for small jobs, which I do a lot. Eastwood doesn't sell the hose and good luck finding a quality hose at your local hardware store!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage Can only blast for small bursts at a time, took about 3 hours to do the front fender of a motorcycle, had to brake out the old sander to finish the job. Not the Eastwood quality I'm accustomed to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well after small adjustment Control valve at bottom was getting soda stuck in it. We switched to larger size and been great since. Using control at spray nosel to control volume.

I have a Rolair VT25BIG (6.5 CFM @ 90 PSI). Do you have any soda blaster that would work with this air compressor?

Asked by: scodle
Unfortunately all of our blasting equipment will require a higher CFM. The lowest we have is 7 CFM to blast.

Does the abrasive kit come with this to convert it or is it sold individually?

The abrasive manifold and soda manifold come with this unit.

I purchase a soda blaster the 50gallon size. What is a good pressure to keep the unit blowing out the soda.

Asked by: Zombiefred
The pressure blasters are designed to run at 10 CFM @ 90 psi. That PSI setting will give you the best blasting possible.

Does this unit come with the mist hose to keep the dust down, or is that sold separately?

Asked by: Big dave2
The blaster does not come with a misting hose. The unit used to come with one, but there were some draw backs to having the misting hose near the nozzle. So our R&D department re designed the deadman valve. There is no moisture hose available for this unit.

Does this unit come with a moisture separator?

Asked by: ziggy
It has a small separator, but it is best to use it in conjunction with a heavier-duty desiccant system to do most of the filtration of moisture before it gets to the blaster unit.

What air pressure needed for normal operation?

Asked by: Gennadiy
This unit will utilize any of our bicarbonate soda medias and operate at 100 psi to project a stream of media about 3" in diameter at the surface for quick coating removal.

FAQ's

Bicarbonate soda will not harm glass, plastics, and fiberglass or chrome surfaces. It is used to remove paint coatings from the vehicle without etching the surface or changes of warping like more aggressive Medias. It is the best way to strip fiberglass corvettes, boats or aftermarket hoods. Also used to remove paint from urethane and SMC type bumper fascias. This unit can also be converted to utilize standard abrasive medias such as crushed glass, aluminum oxide, etc with the included abrasive kit.

Safety

Use a properly fitted dust mask or respirator, safety glass or safety shield, heavy gloves and long pants and a long sleeve shirt to protect any exposed skin. Use our safety kit # 50097 for complete protection. Assure the dead man valve is operating properly by depressing the valve lever and releasing-assuring it closes over the nozzle under its own spring pressure. If not, do not use the dead man valve until the spring or obstruction is repaired.
