Rated 5 out of 5 by from Broken glass panel ! Just purchased and was happy with fast shipping, but during the uncrating, I discovered that the glass panel on the door was broken.her components in great condition, nothing bent or damaged, just a the glass was broken. There is no marks or dents on the door with the glass. Very Very satisfied with the unit itself, and assembled very nicely. The cabinet actually exceeded my expectation, only I was just disappointed with the broken glass. Not to sure who to contact about a replacement glass. But any information will be appreciated, I would like to start using the blast cabinet ASAP! I managed to assemble the cabinet completely, even with the broken glass, due to the fact that the glass was sandwiched between to plastic cover sheets, very good idea for shipping, but it unfortunately.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from poor packing and shipping Was very happy to get the blaster cabinet that shipped flat. When I opened up the boxes several of the metal edges were bent, warped, and creased, along with many scratches and gouges in the paint. The paint is not as big a concern but the damage to the blaster made it very difficult to assemble. I had to hammer out the body of the blaster to make it fit. I wasn't planning on having to to body work to get this thing up and running! I contacted Eastwood and they wanted to send me a replacement after I repacked the blaster. Way too much hassle to try and repack--I hope that Eastwood will evaluate their packing crew!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor customer service My new cabinet blaster arrived with bent flanges, missing 30' feet of seal tape and miss three bolts to finish. I called customer service they said they would call me back with a solution to the missing parts. Well that has not happen. A trip to Home Depot for the missing parts and the blaster seem to work fine. I had more picture but they would not down load to this review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth the money I purchased this cabinet blaster after using a mobile blaster for years. With the dangers of old sandblasters and the mess I wanted something that I could re-use the more expensive but safer bead media and reduce the hazards of this kind of blasting work. I was very pleasantly surprised on many fronts with this cabinet. It is surprisingly sturdy once assembled. I've been blasting a lot of suspension parts for an old car I am restoring and it has handled them with ease. Plenty of room to move the parts around in the cabinet and even with 50 lbs of media in the hopper and some large parts the cabinet is solid. Of special importance to me was the fact that Eastwood shipped this in a very nice packing setup which even with today's less than careful shippers this big cabinet with a lot of sheet metal arrived without being dented and bent. Assembly instructions are not quite right, but looking at the diagrams and the parts I had I was able to figure it out. The sealing tape was the only confusing part as it states 2 rolls and you get 8, of two different sizes but if one reviews the whole assembly instructions you can figure out which rolls to use where. I found it to be very tight once sealed up with no leaking of media dust out of the cabinet which is very important for safety reasons. The one issue I did have was that my standard shopvac would not hook up to it as I thought it would, so I had to fabricate a way to hook it up and also reduce the draw of the vacuum as the shopvac simply pulled too much air out of the cabinet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average equipment The item came quickly, however, expect to do sheet metal work. The packaging is not adequate enough to stabilize the metal blaster. I have numerous corners and lips that were bent that I had to straighten out, and it seems that the pieces move around a lot during shipping, which have scratched all the way threw the powder coating to bare metal. I have not yet used the blaster because I have not had the time to finish it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from do your research better than I did Bought couple months ago to replace a poor harbor freight cabinate, just to see this is the same cabinate with the Eastwood name. Replacement parts impossible to find. Gloves attach to heavy plastic that breaks fairly easy after aging.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from easy to use received with several small dings but nothing big considering the weight of the boxes. received 2 fronts for the lower hopper but was able to modify to work, but overall I am happy with it and it works great

The directions supplied say not to use sand but on a previous question asked in this forum the response from Eastwood was all media was acceptable. Can I use sand in this cabinet?

Asked by: Tazzdevil
Regular sand (like play sand) is not acceptable to use for any abrasive blasting using any machine. It is far too aggressive for the internals of most units, but it is also dangerous to your health.

Do I have to use a shop vac to evacuate the blasting dust or can this machine operate without the shop vac, and still be able to see the work piece?

Asked by: zhotrod
A vacuum is almost required. You can blast for a short time without one, but depending on the media being used it will fill up with dust very quickly and it will be tough to see the project.

Will this cabinet work with 6 cfm @ 90 psi? Thanks

Asked by: Toolman55
7cfm at 90 psi is the minimum recommendation for this cabinet. Will you be able to blast with 6cfm at 90psi? The answer is yes that you will be able to blast, but your compressor will not keep up with the demand of air needed, so you will need to stop and wait for it to catch up. This will also put more wear on the compressor from the constant running.

Do you have the proper vac/dust collector that could be attached to this machine?

Asked by: Jack45
For that blast cabinet; you can use a wet dry VAC with a 1/2 intake hose to plug onto the down spout on the back of the unit.
