Let Eastwood and HotCoat® Help You Start Your Own Powder-Coating Business

It makes sense to get on the powder coating bandwagon.Powder coating has been called the "coating of the future" because the process is environmentally friendly and has been proven to be more cost-effective than other coatings. As an added incentive to get into powder coating, the process also offers a perceived value. The finished product your customers receive will have an attractive, durable finish, so much so that they will expect to pay more for it since they perceive the powder coating process to be very expensive.

According to a Powder Coating Institute study, the applied cost for powder coating was a full 30% lower per square foot than conventional solvent painting. Eastwood and HotCoat® offer products that let you do this industrial-type coating with affordable start-up costs. We'll even help you arrange commercial financing or leasing.

Powder coating emits virtually no volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and the process generates little or no hazardous waste compared to the problematic sludge left over by liquid paint.

Eastwood and HotCoat® offer products to help you through all processes required to run a powder-coating business. Powder coating involves a pre-treatment operation to ensure that the surface is clean and free of grease, dust, dirt and rust. To this end, Eastwood offers a variety of abrasive blast cabinets for the efficient removal of old finishes and rust. Additionally, we have a series of chemical products to further remove surface contaminants to assure you of professional results every time. After the pre-treatment, the workpieces are placed in the powder booth for the powder application. These engineered booths add to the efficiency of applying the powder and the containment of powder overspray. The powder coating is applied using one of our powder coat spray guns. Once coated, the powder must be cured in an oven. During this process the powder melts, flows, and cures onto the surface of the part. All our industrial-grade powder-curing ovens are economical to operate.
