    Joe Richardson,
    Product Engineer

I have been a serious, hands-on car guy since the age of 3, an avid Eastwood customer since the early 1980’s and an Eastwood R&D employee for over dozen years. I consider myself to be extremely fortunate to be working in the heart of my hobby. Having spent a number of years as a mechanical design professional, Eastwood allows me to combine my product design knowledge with practical use experience.

I have refurbished and restored over 20 collector cars and trucks over the years and participated in many more. My permanent keeper is a 1959 Corvette which I have lovingly worked on and enjoyed for over 25 years. My daily drivers are a rare 2 door, manual transmission 1998 Jeep Cherokee that with the help of Eastwood products, will be on the road for another 20 years and a low mileage, 1998 Mustang GT Convertible with all the popular aftermarket modifications for warm weather enjoyment. In addition, my automotive history and restoration articles have appeared in several auto restoration magazines and I recently completed a new book “Powdercoating Beginners Guide” available through Eastwood.

In Eastwood R&D, we rigorously evaluate all Eastwood products using ASME and ASTM testing standards and equipment. as well as design and develop new, previously non-existent products that make the job easier for the restorers and car builders of the world. If it doesn’t get past us, we won’t sell it to you.

    Evan Soda, Product Engineer

I came to work at The Eastwood Company over 3 years ago, hired as a Product Engineer which involves a multitude of tasks. At Eastwood, my daily responsibilities are all about bringing new products to market which includes ideation, development, testing, and finally, making the product available to our customers. The job doesn’t stop there—I also strive to control quality all of our products.

The motorsports industry has long been a part of my life. I started riding and racing ATV’s and dirt bikes at a young age, worked at power sports dealerships throughout high school and college, and then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering before coming to Eastwood.

I always have ongoing projects that actually never seem to end. I am currently working on a 1990 Nissan 240sx—I swapped the motor to an inline 6 with a larger turbo. The car was a rust bucket when I got it so I had to do a lot of rust repair and body work. I recently finished it all off with our Moonlight Drive Metallic Blue paint.
