Eastwood Moonlight Drive Blue Metallic - This is such a dark shade of blue, it looks black unless viewed in the sun. That’s when deep shades of navy and a subtle metallic effect finally reveal themselves.
Makes 1 sprayable gallon when mixed 3:1 with a required activator
Approximate coverage: 125 SQ FT
Flake/Pearl Particle size: 10-60 microns
Max Temperature: Paint will handle up to 300 degrees without delamination, but color shift may occur, so it should not be used in a high heat setting
Made in the USA
This premium 2-component topcoat system is blended with top-quality raw materials and advanced composition coatings technology. Superior to acrylic, alkyd and lacquer coatings. Eastwood's single-stage urethane paints hold their gloss longer and won't yellow.
Pro Tip: When spraying Single Stage Metallic and Pearl Paints, you can improve appearance by using the special additive Metalli-Flow Metallic Paint Enhancer to help lock and stabilize metallic and pearl particles for a perfect finish.

Satisfied.I sprayed a Triumph TR8 with Moonlight Dr and was quite pleased with the results. Engine bay and trunk were sprayed as a single stage and the exterior body panels were clear coated. I've been a hobby painting for 40+ years, have used a number of products, and found this Eastwood product very user friendly. My only complaint is that when I had to buy a second gallon for some additional work at a later date, the color failed to perfectly match. Of course, had I purchased 2 gallons at the same time, I would have mixed them to have avoided that problem. Bottom line: I am sufficiently satisfied to where I'm going to paint a second vehicle in this same color.

Does not spray consistentlyThis is very tough to paint without professional equipment. It is not very forgiving for your average home garage user. We sprayed almost 2 gallons on a Mustang (4 - 5 layers). It never went on smoothly and we are sanding/buffing/polishing to get it to look good. After sanding and polishing, there are some spots of zebra stripes where the paint didn't quite mix/spray consistently.
Note: I think you definitely need to use a metallic conditioner with this paint... which wasn't in the list of normally purchased items with this paint.
On the positive side, the paint does look great in the sun... and it seems to hold up really well to sanding/buffing/polishing without much burn through. (Perhaps because there are 4 layers!). I will try to upload a final photo when complete, but this paint job is taking a several months!
Any of our catalyzed clears works great over this but I would strongly recommend this particular option here: https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-2-1-urethane-clear-gallon-and-activators.html

After it Dries, do you buff it/ Can you buff it?
Asked by: Buffing single stage pain
This can be buffed. However, with metallics, we recommend using a clear.
