Questions & Answers

do you have to scuff up the paint on replacement sheet metal panels or just wipe them down with acetone

Asked by: gene
Before applying Encapsulator, we would advise scuffing and wiping them down. The coating on replacement panels varies, so you need to be careful regarding adhesion. Note the product is RUST Encapsulator, designed to work with rust.

What is the difference between the Internal Frame Coating & the Internal Frame Coating Plus?

Asked by: JoeC
The difference between Eastwood Internal Frame Coating and Internal Frame Coating Plus mainly comes down to corrosion protection strength, finish, and durability. Internal Frame Coating Plus Offers stronger rust conversion and better long-term protection than the standard version.

Can this be applied over a floor that has been previously treated with Ospho ?

Asked by: _Jon
You would want to neutralize any acid product first with Eastwood Pre Paint Prep or Acetone. Then I would apply a small test area to make sure no reaction starts. If fully cures (24-48hrs) and it is not tacky, then I would assume you can proceed to coat the vehicle floor boards.

What type of solvent is needed for cleaning brushes, etc. after use???

For Spray Guns: Clean thoroughly with acetone or lacquer thinner immediately after use to prevent the product from curing inside the equipment. Brushes and Rollers: Rinse with acetone or lacquer thinner promptly after application.
