The perfect lacquer for a correct,
OEM-matching finish under the hood

Eastwood Underhood Black™ is the perfect lacquer paint for the correct OEM-matching finish under the hood...choose semi-gloss or matte.

  • Restores OEM Low Gloss Finish
  • Protects From Rust and Corrosion
  • Fast Drying Formula
  • Perfect for Firewalls and Inner Fenders

Underhood Black™ Semi-Gloss is just the right 10-20 percent semi-gloss finish for most radiator supports, inner fender walls, underhood brackets, and other under hood parts. The Matte formula duplicates the near-zero gloss finish you find in many older cars for those parts. Both formulas resist chipping, scratches and light impacts.11-oz. aerosol can covers 6 square feet; 1-quart can covers 48 square feet.

Customer Review: "I'm building a 1969 Yenko Camaro. I have the subframe and arms powder coated. I used Underhood Black on the engine bay and the underfloor. You cannot tell the difference between the powder coating and the Eastwood paint...amazing results! Looks factory-new now."

About Eastwood Underhood Black Paint

Underhood Black is the correct shade of black underhood spray paint for engine-compartment paint on radiator supports, inner fender walls, lug wrenches, jack bases, underhood brackets and other parts. Black underhood paints from typical hardware stores are either too thick, too glossy, or the wrong color.

Just clean, degrease, and prepare the parts well (use our Self-Etching Primers), then apply this engine-compartment paint for a professional, factory-like, underhood paint finish. Acrylic lacquer withstands up to 250° F and goes on thin for a smooth finish that doesn't hide surface details. Do not use with enamel primers.

Q. How do I apply this underhood paint?
A. Surface must be clean, dry, and free of dirt, grease and oil. For maximum protection, first prime with a self-etching primer or epoxy primer before top-coating. For best results, use when can is between 70 and 90 degrees F. This engine-compartment paint may be used over bare metal, self-etching primer, or Rust Encapsulator.

Use in a well-ventilated area or wear a respirator.
