Product Overview:
Description
If you project vehicle is pre-1989, ZDDP Oil Additive is a must for keeping that engine running smoothly.
- ZDDP alters bearing and journal surface characteristics to prevent metal-on-metal contact
- ZDDP reduces the tendency of parts to scuff or gall under heavy loads
- Add a 4-oz. bottle of ZDDP to every 4-6 quart oil change
If your engine was designed before 1989, the camshaft's non-roller lifters require ZDDP in the motor oil to prevent premature deterioration. However, the U.S. government recommended that ZDDP no longer be put into domestic motor oils starting in 1989, so today's motor oils won't provide the ZDDP additive your older engine needs...unless you add this ZDDP Oil Additive!

ZDDP oil additive
This product is really efficient. You don’t have to use enhanced ZDDP oil when using this product. You can use your favorite oil and just add this to it

Using ZDDP in your boat engines.
I always use ZDDP on the boat every oil change. It's a 1989 so it has flat lifters not roller.

Just what my Buick Grand National Regal needs
I'm a frequent purchaser of products like this from eastwood. I like this product because it really helps protects the older high horsepower engines that require zinc as an additive.

Smartest way to prolong your engines life.
Keep your engine alive, replace the luberacation leaded fuel gas had back in past, but lacks today with the zinc this product has. A simple fact that you can't deny, this is the ticket for a long and powerful life for your engine.Best investment at a low cost.

Must product for all Classics
You should use this on your classic when you change your oil, especially if your engine is stock. The engines rely on ZDDP, they have had it in new oil during oil changes until recently and now the oil companies are omitting it from their motor oil. Cheap insurance to keep that engine purring like new. Just like running ethanol free fuel in our classics, mandatory to prevent fuel related issues.

Questions & Answers
How is the active ingredient Zinc Alkyldithiophosphate (CAS 68649ā42ā3) different than zinc phosphorodithioate (CAS 2215-35-2)?
I'm not a chemist I have no idea what the second one you referenced is and cannot find much material talking about its use, but this product contains Zinc dialkyldithiophosphate which is commonly known as ZDDP. Often added to engine oil for wear resistance.

I am looking to bump the zddp of my tractor oil up to about 1350-1400ppm, the current oil i use is around 1150-1200ppm. How much of the additive should I add to 13qts of engine oil?
You're looking for about a 17% increase, I would try adding two bottles (8 oz.) and see where that gets you.

Unfortunately, you may not use it for your 2016 Challenger. Only if you have a vehicle built before 1989, should this product should be used.

I noticed on amazon that this could be used in gear oil. Can this be used in a front or rear differential to quite it down.
Since this is intended to be used to prevent wear it is not going to help reduce noise.

Is it recommended. For a 1991 D250 Cummins?
Pretty sure it does say 1989 for gas engines, but it goes to a later model on diesels.

What is the concentration of the zddp in this product? I need the exact ppm so I can add the proper amount to the oil I use to get 1700 ppm.
We recommend 4 ozs. to 4-6 quarts of motor oil. Taking the middle of the road and mixing 4 ozs. to 5 quarts of motor oil (41:1 Ratio) the additional Zinc and Phosphorus content that would added is;
Phosphorus Content = 1575 ppm
Zinc Content = 1741 ppm”
