Epoxy Primer over Etching Primer? The etching primer is an excellent product. The only draw back is that you can not apply epoxy primer over the etching primer.

Flaked off after 1 weekI used this product to prep a new chrome exhaust tip for high heat paint also purchased from Eastwood. I followed the instructions explicitly and discovered yesterday that after a week the paint and primer has flaked off in a large section. Very disappointing.

Good not greatWork in 90% of my bumper. It did peel off in a few spots. I did prep the bumper with sandpaper and cleaned with alcohols wipes.
Hello, can this be applied over rust encapsulator platinum and under extreme chassis black gloss?
Asked by: Brandon F
I usually do not use Etch primer on a newly clean surface. I then use Encapsulator, then epoxy primer then topcoat

what are the cure times for this primer? How long should it flash cure before spraying a second coat of the primer?
i will put 2k ceramic chassis black over top, how long should the second coat of primer cure before spraying the chassis black?
Asked by: 92broncobuilder
Allow the final coat of Self Etching Primer to dry for a minimum of 3-4 hours before dry sanding, or 15 minutes before wet sanding with #400 grit sandpaper. Do not use near open flame. Dry and recoat times are based on 70°F (21°C) and 50% relative humidity. Allow more time at cooler temperatures.

It will not. Our Black paint is perfectly fine to be applied over gray primer as you normally would.

What size nozzle should be used and at what pressure?
Asked by: tbird55
A 1.4-1.5mm nozzle would work well and we recommend regulating your air pressure at a regulator attached to the bottom of your paint gun between 25-30psi.

Can this etching primer be sprayed over prepped paint and milled aluminum wheels? I want to paint my black and milled wheels all black with your 2k satin black wheel paint.
Asked by: Ryan H
Self-Etching primer should be applied on bare metal only and should not go over existing paint.
