Questions & Answers

Do these flakes change your color?.I going to paint my car a single stage paint wine red .and add flakes to the gallon.what flakes do I use if I just want a little more sparkle. Without changing the color?

Asked by: Ray g
IT can change the all over color in a sense but adding red flakes to a red paint will not cause a drastic effect. Doing this will be more of a minor effect.

I would really like to see this in a paint job because it almost has a subdued look. Maybe in a flat black with a matte clear. If anyone has a link to a paint job done with this it would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately we do not have any phots in regards to this at this time. We will check back periodically and post any we may receive in. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Hi  I plan on custom painting my Tracker Boat. Either a black or dark grey color. Would like to get the heavy flake look that is on a lot of fiberglass boats. Would like to use silver, gold or red flakes in panels or feathered stripes down the side.

Asked by: Keith K
These flakes can certainly be added to the paint or to the clear to bring out a heavy flake look.

With this product when mixed clear is it small enough to shoot with a regular spray gun?

Asked by: KahunaJohn
We would recommend a 1.4 to a 1.8 fluid tip in a regular spray gun. . Also very important when spraying flakes, is to remove the Gun Cup Filter. The small filter will not allow the flakes to go through and will collect in the filter.

Can I mix and shoot this with powder?

Asked by: Captzap
Flakes can be added into powder technically but pearls can not- they will burn. I would not add more than a teaspoon of flakes for every bottle of powder coat.. If too much flake is mixed in; the flakes will not allow the powder to cure properly.

How much of this product would it take to solid flake a full car or truck like a Chevy s10

Asked by: Bobby69
Typically for every gallon of paint/ clear a 50 gram container is added.. This is a matter of personal preference though.

Can this be added to black urethane basecoat?

Asked by: 67 Cutlass
This can certainly be added to black basedcoat. Just keep in mind you may not see the flakes as well as you could. This are best added to clear.
