Rated 3 out of 5 by from Functions but expect to purchase many bits. First off this thing does a good job of cutting around the actual spot weld. The problem though is that if you catch it funky in any way it will snap the teeth off. You can still cut with a few teeth missing until you ultimately catch it again and snap the rest off. If you purchase this just expect to purchase more bits and do yourself a big favor and drill pilot holes into the welds before you try to use this tool. If it starts walking you will end up breaking teeth. I may have tried something else first if I had known this but I prefer to not put a hole through both pieces if I don't have to.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK These cutters cut well but are very brittle. The slightest hang up and the teeth all shatter off. also found that drilling a small centering hole for the center pin to ride in helped. The first hole I drilled broke my first set of teeth. was able to get better desalts after a while but still went threw 4 sets (two cutters) drilling out 30 or so spot welds.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good tool, not very resilient So this tool works great, before it wears out, and it wears VERY quickly. I think I cut out 12-15 spot welds per side before it was done. It needs to be made to have harder points so it wears better, or make the replacement cutters a requirement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EASTWOOD 3/8IN DOUBLE ENDED SPOT WELD CUTTER I HAVE USED THEM ON SPOT WELDS FOR A FEW YEARS NOW AND THEY WORK GREAT. I FIND THEY WORK BEST IF YOU DRILL A SMALL HOLE IN THE CENTER OF THE SPOT WELD TO KEEP THE SPRING LOADED CENTER OF THE CUTTER ON THE CENTER OF THE SPOT WELD. THIS HELPS THE CUTTER TO NOT SPIN OUT AND BREAK CUTTING TEETH OFF.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great tool great tooland if you follow the instructions it works very well. As my Grandfather and father told me , " let the tool do the work , that's why you bought it". The only disappointment I had was the 6x8x11 box that the 3x4x1/2" product came in.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not what I had hoped I agree with some of the other reviews, it works well but the blades will brake on the slightest snag. One of the blades broke when I was removing it and fliping it over. if you buy this buy lots of extra blades.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good tool, needs to be more resilient I used this tool to remove some welds on my 77 BMW. It worked great, but the cutters wore down very quickly. I recommend using a 1/16" bit to prevent the tip from skating all over the place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cleanly parts the welded metal Easy to use. Dimple the middle of the weld to hold the center point and cut. The outer layer comes right off without leaving a hole in the under layer. Tool is durable and a great value.

on the spot weld cutter. How do you swap the cutter head?

Asked by: worker
The cutter head is threaded on. Simply un-thread and swap out the cutter.
