Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Beginer Gun Made the mistake of buying the 3 gun vaper set up for $80 or somthing. Tried and it was orange peel hell. Bought this set up and now my base and clears go down like I have done it all my life. Even if you are a cheapo like me spend the few extra $ and get this set up. Well worth the time saved wet sanding the clear to look good. This is a great set up for the do it yourselfer. 30 gal compressor not even struggling to keep up. Just a great set up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gun !! I bought this gun last year but didnt get to use it unill now and I was blown away by how nicely it sprayed.. I am a novice but I would have expected more trouble for the first time.. Only complaint would be a more helpful instruction manual for the beginners such as the various knobs and what to look for when adjusting. otherwise very pleasent results and I'm very happy with it. Very good for the dollar. Would recomend buying it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brings back memorys of pre hvlp painting I have been using multiple guns including a sharpe 975 and SGF. I picked this gun up with low expectations. But parts are getting Iimpossible for the old ones. Needless to say I really enjoyed using it. I turned off one of the pumps in the shop since thus gun is not reported to be an air hog. And I laid out a beautiful high solid clear with the 1.2 tip. It was better than my trusty old Sharpe for both atomization and flow. I would compare it to to the 975 in fact it really does not seem like a HVLP while using it I thought maybe I got the wrong unit. I wont rage about how great Iit is and leave it at that. The vinyl lid must be screwed on tiiiight or it will drip. Gar!!! The lid needs some work r o make it better at sealing with a normal twist and seal. The metal cup does not offer much in the way of a vent in the lid. Just a hole poked in the middle. Drip just waiting to happen. Luckily it was a white bc/cc and the drip will probably be ok to cut out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What an AWESOME gun!! Got this 1.2 and 1.4. Swapped to the 1.4mm and sprayed black met, Wine candy then clear with very little overspray. I've had MUCH more expensive guns, in the past (siphon style) and this one sprays just as well if not better!! Highly recomend. :-)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good paint gun i bought this gun to upgrade from my cheap vaper guns, and I'm very happy with it its light and comfortable to handle sprays clears and color real good, good gun for the D.I.Y. person

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Metal cup coating is worthless The coating in the metal cup needs to be baked on or removed entirely, because reducers make it come off into your paint and the lid takes it off also. The gun itself sprays good.

painting a truck, cab only & body panels. have a mac5200 compressor 6.9 cfm@40. using single stage jaded green. ordered 1 gallon. do you think this gun will work with this compressor if panels are painted separately? biggest being the hood.

Asked by: launch
You'll have no issues running the gun consistently over the whole project since your compressor exceeds the air consumption requirement of the paint gun.

what is the minim size compressor in gallon that this gun will work on.

Asked by: joe5
The size of the tank is irrelevant when determining which one to get to operate an air tool. CFM, which is a measure of volume of air used by a tool or supplied by a compressor is the main thing to pay attention to. This gun can operate on a compressor that outputs as little as 4 CFM at 29 psi. You'll typically see motors and pumps that are capable of outputting that kind of volume attached to tanks in the 30 gallon range.

Will the #51687 150 cc Metal cup fit the #51603 spray gun?

Asked by: gene8522
No, the 150 cc cup is designed for use with the smaller Concours Detail gun only. The threads are much smaller on the Detail gun.
