Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great gun for the price I used this gun with my 17 gallon home compressor to paint a car this weekend. While the compressor did struggle to keep up, the paint quality from the gun was very good! I was surprised at the level of quality I was able to get with very little adjustment from the gun. I purchased the kit with the 1.8, 1.4 and 1.2 tips. I used the 1.8 for the primer and the 1.4 for base coat and clear, and I am very happy with the results. I was a little skeptical about this gun when I ordered it, but would not hesitate to recommend it to others now.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Struggling with gun setup I purchased this gun with the 1.4mm tip separately. The 1.2mm/1.4mm kit was out of stock and I had a limited time go get the gun so I paid the extract money. I have yet to have the gun spray Eastwood urethane or European clear without orange peel. I have attempted to setup the gun more than a dozen times using the 1.2 or 1.4 tips. I have tried reducing the paint/clear or shooting it without reduction. I have what youtube videos (like Kevin Tetz) and yet to have satisfactory results. I bought this gun to replace a cheaper HVLP gun (I paid $60 for the kit including two guns). I can get the cheaper gun to shoot without orange peel, not this one. I would love to rave how good the concours gun performs.... but not yet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 5 stars, with improvements I was unhappy with gun until I got used to it. If you use other guns in the past like I have (an older Devilbiss HVLP), practice once on a practice panel before shooting your vehicle. In my opinion, I never realized how nice my 1000cc (33ish oz) cup was until I was unable to fit a full 32oz mix of paint. This left me stopping to refil my gun too often. They really need to offer a 1000cc cup. Just something to think about... Another thing, I don't think the 1.2 and 1.4mm tips were a wise selection. Possibly be alright to shoot waterborne, I never have so... I feel it'd be better if they offered a 1.3/1.5mm combo, at least for the PPG material I spray. Like I say, I think it's geared more towards waterborne paints. Take this with a grain of salt as I'm far from a pro though, this is my opinion from my first useage. All in all, it's a very nice gun for the money. Main selling point for me initially was the 4cfm consumption, as it barely stresses my medium sized compressor! Fit and finish is very nice, and many of the features are top notch. However, if I were to be browsing to buy another gun, I think I would go Devilbiss because of the 1000cc cup and 1.3/1.5/1.8mm needle selection.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Unimpressed, but then I am not a pro! If you are a lousy, amateur painter, (and yes I am!), then this gun will not make you a bit better! On the other hand, it probably won’t make you any worse either, although it did me due to my ignorance of its proper setup and overall lack of practice. Frankly, I just didn’t find it very user friendly. Therefore, (IMHO) if you only paint a car every couple of years (like I do), then save your money and just buy a cheap HVLP gun that’s recommended either on line or by a local auto paint supplier. As for this one; I purchased the HVLP gun, all three tips, and their digital gun regulator. Oh and for what it’s worth, the gun is manufactured in Taiwan. I’m just saying… P.S. Best of luck on your project.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gun - Great Price and Great Results! This gun is the 4th spray gun I've owned, and the easiest to use. The results have been nothing short of phenominal with both single stage urethane and urethane primer. I'm now painting my project car (again) and look forward to using the gun, it's that good! Highly recommend this product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Workable with small compressor running a dewalt 5cfm@90 compressor makes a HVLP gun choice very limited. This gun with a 1.2 tip performs very well. had to run the regulatro on the comprssor up to 70psi than regulate at gun to about 62(drops to 28 when in use). The gun sprayed very well with almost no overspray, factory level orange peel which can be easily color sanded/polished out. I did get the 1.4 and 1.8 tips but cant use with the small compressor. With some practice and a 15+cfm compressor this gun would do a fine job for show car level. with a small compressor even a novie can reproduce factory level finish

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Concours Quality I was a little skeptical about this gun. But after I recieved it and used it I realized just how well this gun works. Not only did it provide an excellent finish but, it saved some material also. I am impressed with how easy it was to dial in and get great results in just minutes. Thanks to Eastwood I recommend this gun as well as all of their products to my customers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Gun For those that are compressor challenged I can't recommend this gun enough. Was skeptical how it would atomize paint at such low cfm requirements, but no worries, it works great.. Buy the larger tips if doing 2K primer, I used the 1.4 and it worked fine. The 1.2 would be fine for most bases and some clears. Big thumbs up from me.

can you do primer and clear coat with this gun

Asked by: koolm877
The Concours gun can be used to apply primer and clear coat with the correct needle/nozzle/air cap. We sell additional needle/nozzle/air caps that suit the different coating (1.4mm is good for clear and basecoats, 1.8 is good for primers and 2.2 is good for high build poly primers).

Doesn't the tip size mandate the CFM?

Asked by: Andy Adams
No, the tip size only allows fluid to flow through it. Air passes through the gun in a different passageway. The paint gun's air consumption does not vary based on tip size because the air cap remains the same regardless of what nozzle is installed.

Are there any other fluid tip options, such as 1.4, 1.5, 1.8?

Asked by: Waf972
We offer 1.2, 1.4, 1.8 and 2.2mm tips for the Concours gun. http://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-cap-needle-and-nozzle-kit-for-hvlp-gun.html

What is the minimum volume recommended compressor?  I have plenty of cfm but only a 10 gallon tank.

Asked by: rdg1
The volume of your compressor's tank isn't necessarily important, as long as it is capable of outputting at least the CFM draw of the tool you're using. If your compressor is capable of putting out at least 4 CFM, you can use the Concours gun continually.
