Eastwood DTM Epoxy Primer Gray Gallon 1:1 is rated 4.75 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent primer I'm comparing this to the similar PPG DPLF epoxy primer. It sprayed very nicely with a 1.5 tip, and didn't clog the tip. Laid out nicely with no issues. I would suggest the user lay this on fairly thick as it covers great but seems to dry a little quicker than other products I've used. Maybe thin it out as recommended would help with this. Overall very happy with the results, and a great product for the price! I wish Eastwood would publish shelf life though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Epoxy This really is a great epoxy primer for the money! I had never spayed epoxy prior to his and had no problem spraying it with a 1.4 tip (with correct settings). It laid out really nicely and I had no problems with orange peel either. Would purchase again if I needed to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Primer for the Price Good price and sands easily. Be careful when using on irregular surfaces as it will overspray easy and gets quite grainy. I found thinning helps alot. The good thing is it does sand very easily so the overspray is easily removed.

Do blocking primers allow painting over enamel or do I have to strip to bare metal?

Asked by: kingpinjohn
This epoxy primer can be applied over bare metal, body fillers, fiberglass and prepped existing finishes like enamel. High build primers, like our Contour polyester primer can be applied over prepped existing finishes. When coating over an unknown base, it is a good idea to strip the item to bare metal to ensure a good foundation.

How well does this hold up to the elements as it may be a few months before I can color coat? The work will be done outside in North Carolina on a 46 year old truck

Asked by: Cougarman
Our epoxy primer will withstand the weather with no issues while you are waiting to finish the paint work. Just be sure to fully coat the pieces with at least two solid coats if you plan on letting the project sit exposed to the elements.
