Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprised at how well this works As others said this can be messy to apply, but it works very well. I used it to coat the inside of some custom turbo down-pipes I made and I got some on my shop floor. This was a year ago and its still there! And this was not a home workshop, but an auto repair business shop floor, so the stuff is extremely tough. I don't know how the stuff will hold up inside the downpipe with the turbo heat at full boost, but I can tell you it kept the pipes from rusting inside while the rest of the build was being finished up (about a year) and after some low boost tuning it still looks great. I am going to be using it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent product this is sure the best stuff on the market. this is far better than over the counter product at the made in mexico stores. If you put your extension tube on, try it out on the first try on a sample piece of metal. once you see the flow you can notice how it sprays. coats external part of header well, move rather fast on the internal part of the tubes to prevent running. let it dry and apply second coat internally. I LOVE IT. I used this on a set of doug's shorty headers on my 351c.

For an amateur like myself, I found the paint was easy to apply, and the paint appears to be very high quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Neat idea but be careful of your paint usage I bought this stuff to coat the inside of my headers because this seemed like a cool idea and, well, nobody else has anything like this. The paint looks to be very high quality paint, I warmed the spray can but was spraying room temperature metal in a 50 degree garage and it looked to go on very evenly. HOWEVER...a word of warning to all using this. The way the spray nozzle extension on this thing is set up, it sprays out a very large amount of paint. It's also difficult to tell what you're doing since you can't see. And, if you hang the header up to paint it like I did...make sure you have nothing of value directly under the header, and preferably you want a box or garbage can with a plastic bag in it and some paper towels or newspaper. I say this because it takes some time to get the hang of using this paint- when I initially painted my header tubes from the top (flange), I went way too heavy on the paint and it was running out of the collector like a faucet. I feel like I wasted a lot of paint like that, and I figured one can would easily do both headers with paint left over, but I feel like I wasted half a can on that first header. It would be nice to see a spray extension that would perhaps do a wider/finer pattern? This one spits out a ton of paint which makes it tough when you're painting blind. Overall though, neat idea, and again, nobody else has something like this- hopefully it'll help on my headers!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not very good Very bad design on extension tube product comes out way to thick and runs down header tubes, not what I expected from Eastwood you guys need to work on this or give up on it one . Haven't installed part on truck yet , but will let you know how it performes, ( hopefully better than the application.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well This is good stuff. I used it on an exhaust manifold and there is plenty in one can for both the inside and the outside. Just be careful to cover anything nearby that you do not want painted.

Does this coating add significant insulation value. I want to use it to reduce exhaust pipe surface temperature to reduce fire risk of new pick-ups in tall dry grass.

No, it is more of a corrosive prevention for new or cleaned headers from having them rust from the inside out

Can this product be used directly on rusty exhaust manifold bolts as a high temp rust inhibitor coating in order to eliminate further rusting of these bolts?  The two foot application tube would come in handy in reaching these parts.

The product is intended to prevent corrosion in new metal, it is not a rust treatment. The rust would need to be removed prior to use.

Does this product have to be heated for curing soon after application or can I wait several months?

Any risk of the paint chipping off in the header and blowing up a turbo?

To apply, ensure the component to be coated is clean and free of rust and debris. If coating a used see additional instructions. Attach the 2' extension nozzle to the aerosol outlet. Insert extension tube in as far in as it can go. Depress button and slowly pull the extension tube out of the exhaust component. Inspect to make sure there is full coverage, only one complete coat is needed. Allow 8-12 hours to fully cure before putting into service.
