About Eastwood Metal Blackening Solution 1 Pt
Blackened steel and iron parts such as nuts, bolts and brackets are commonly used by the automotive industry. Over time it is not unusual for some of these components to fade and corrode, but you no longer have to send them out for refinishing or leave them unfinished. The Eastwood Metal-Blackening System (10238Z) allows you to quickly and economically restore the original black-oxide look of metal parts. Not a paint; this metal-blackening concentrated solution helps duplicate the original equipment's black oxide finish.

Very usefull product

Value Quality Price Works as advertised, but only if the parts are first blasted. No amount of cleaning, degreasing, etching or solvent wash would produce and even result.
I have not used the diamond clear on the finished parts, but a plain oil coating after blackening looks superb. -

Price Value Quality Used this after Rust Disolver to blacken slightly rusted 1950's and 60's Jaguar tools. I was surprised how quick and easy it was. Rubbed in a lubricant when I was done. Solution, once mixed, can be reused. If you need one, use a plastic funnel.

Price Value Quality I used this material on media blasted chassis hardware for a Corvette restoration. The solution works as advertised and creates a nice black oxide finish with very little effort.

Price Value Quality Used product on a Street damper, that was not coated. Although I had painted with Duplicolor clear engine paint, over time it begin to rust. Then it was media blasted and repainted with Duplicolor black. The timing marks could not be painted white, and look good. Took a chance on this product worked great..The minute amount need to coated the balancer made it easy to paint timing marks. I used the Gloss Diamond clear to give it a little shine.....
