Eastwood Seam Sealer and Rust Encapsulator Kit is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Quality produce I have used the Rust Encapsulator on some really rusty bumper brackets on my 50 year old restoration. It went on easy with a foam brush and dried really fast with the second coat in about a half hour. The result was a better than factory finish.. I am looking forward to trying the seam sealer. It looks like it will be perfect for the job. Next I will try Chassis Black and bet it works well too.

what is coverage per kit

Asked by: GB Construction
1 quart of Rust Encapsulator covers approximately 50 sq ft. The Seam Sealer is a bit more difficult to give coverage amounts, as application varies by user. I have a can that I used on a VW Bug and I didn't use the whole can. I recommend applying the seam sealer with an acid brush, as this allows you to replicate the factory look. http://www.eastwood.com/acid-brushes-pack-of-5.html

Does the rust encapsulation bond to Bare metal, rusty metal and paint primer. Will it work bond to the engine and frame paint on an 1968 mustang does all the old paint needed to be striped.

Asked by: rock
Rust Encapsulator will adhere to prepped rust, bare metal, and painted surfaces. It can also be applied over or under body fillers. To answer your last questions, if the old paint is adhering well and is cleaned & prepped, Rust Encapsulator will adhere. I personally would remove the old paint and start with a clean foundation.
