This easy-to-use quart etches and primes bare, rust-free metal in one step, saving you a great deal of time. Adheres to steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and galvanized steel and is compatible with virtually any paint or auto finish. It is also a single-stage formula which requires no catalyst, making it easier to use. NOT FOR USE UNDER CHASSIS BLACK. Quart comes pre-thinned for spraying. Buy 3 or more and SAVE!

Our Chassis Black paints do not stick well to this and other single stage self etching primers. This Self Etching primer uses an aggressive solvent system to assure excellent adhesion to clean, rust free metal. Eastwood's Self-Etching Primer is Lacquer based.
Work in a well ventilated area. A Respirator like our Professional Respirator (34029) is recommended when using this product.

Self Etching Primer etches & primes in one step for superior adhesion. It can be used on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, or galvanized surfaces (scuffing recommended). For best results, clean surface with PRE Painting Prep (10041 Z). One Qt covers about 30 sq ft. Max Temp 180 deg F. Lacquer based. Can be used under/over body fillers, additional primers & most top coats. For best results top coat before 24 hrs. After 24 hrs, scuff with 320 grit sandpaper before top coating. Exercise care when using this over enamel finishes as lifting may occur. No additional thinning needed. Use in a well ventilated area.
