This is the best spotweld remover I have ever used. It's still going strong after 100 plus uses. Just keep it oiled on rusty spots, as you would any drill bit.

You Get What You Pay For
This cutter assembly is NOT "China Cra*". It's the real deal and yes it is a bit pricey, but you do usually get what you pay for. If you have a lot of spot welds to cut through there really is no other product that is going to do the job like this cutter. Still, you should also purchase extra cutter heads and definately liberally use cutting oil (WD-40 works fine). You also do need to separately drill a shallow pilot hole as this assembly's pilot bit is spring loaded and intended only to keep the cutter centered on the weld and not for initial pilot hole cutting. The entire design of this assembly is made for repeated heavy duty use unlike many others. It's quality is unsurpassed. I had to remove an entire 1970 Mustang front apron-frame assembly (both sides!) and could not have done the job without this quality type of cutter!

Excellent tool!
Does the job it's intended for. While it does take a bit of effort and finesse to dial in its use, it does a great job, and is a solid built tool that's well worth the price.

Well worth it!
I was a little taken aback at the price of this spot weld cutter. However, if you compare the quality of the arbor, head and pilot to those of a small end mill, or step bit; you are getting your money's worth. Also, although I have only drilled out about 60 spot welds with it so far, it performs perfectly and still looks new. Keep it lubricated!!

Excellent Cutter
The real trick in using these cutters is to spray a little WD40 (or other lubricant) on the spot weld before you start cutting. I went thru my first cutter very quickly before I realized I hadn't lubricated the weld. First tip lasted maybe 15 welds. Now that I am using the lubricant, my current tip has lasted well over a hundred welds and the cutting is still easy. In fact, the trick now is to not completely drill thru the 2nd sheet of metal.

so much better than the regular spot weld cutter!!
went through 2 of the double ended spot weld cutters before i saw this and saw the review already posted.. don't waste your time with the double ended cutters just buy this one. you will spend more money buying the double end cutters then this skip proof one!
it is more money (a little too much in my opinion) but def worth it!

Great tool
I bought 2 of these cutter thinking they would burn out. I have cut through at least a hundred spot welds with the first one and there is tons of life in it.
You will have to drill a pilot hole then use this tool, but it just eats the spot welds and leaves a clean cut

Very useful
Works well if it is kept lubricated, Sand rust away before you try to drill. Center drill will hang up with shavings. Was able to get about 10 welds drilled before it started to get dull
