Starter is new, engine is new, starts engine then makes a spinning noise when trying to start engine again. After a few tries starter engages and starts engine again. sounds like a faulty solenoid ,but don't know ?

you need to measure the tooth engagement, you should be able to slide a straightened paper clip in-between pinion & flywheel. you"ll need to shim starter to correct engagement.
