Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WONDERFUL An exceptional product. It hardens like ceramic takes a beating and blocks out a ton of sound and heat. Especially when you spray it on the roof and inside the doors

Rated 2 out of 5 by from does not like oil did not realize i was purchasing over priced under coating because just like undercoating if exposed to oil which the under side of what car isnot will soften and come off wish i would of known that before applying to firewall and underside if you do definitely paint over to try to seal

Is this or the sound deadener UV stabilized? Can it be exposed to sunlight long term?

Asked by: Wagingbull
These are not fully UV stable and would not be recommended for this type of scenario/environment.

Can this be applied to the inside of the floor of a 1995 Jeep Wrangler. Currently there’s some rust that needs to be removed but wondering if this can be placed on top to seal from further damage.

Asked by: Anonymous
Hey, if it was me I would clean it up first, then use rust encapsulator before I laid this down. You didn't mention the condition of your rust situation. If your rust is through the metal (sometimes you can't tell until you clean it up) you can get moisture infiltration underneath the lizard skin... not a good thing. Repair it first. If it's only surface rust... clean up anything loose, wash it down with any one of eastwood's solvents that are appropriate for your use, coat it with rust encapsulator (I like the best platinum one) , let it cure, then lay down the reptile stuff! Lol. It's always best to properly address rust and clean up first. Always. Whenever you deal with metal that oxidizes. Whichever method you decide to use. Remember, once you get this stuff down it won't be easy to get it off later, not to mention repair the area and touch up the repair with this stuff. Do it once, do it right... no highway option. Hope this helps.

Can you use a standard spray gun / what tip size?

Asked by: Argosy73
No this needs to be applied with the Lizard skin gun listed here https://www.eastwood.com/lizard-skin-super-pro-gun-and-mixing-kit.html or an undercoating gun because of the viscosity of the material.

Can Lizard Skin be applied to the inside of fiber glass camper top? Will is also block out heat and moisture?

Asked by: Lance
Lizard Skin ceramic insulation can be applied to the inside of a fiberglass camper top, but the fiberglass will need to be scuffed and clean any dust particles. Also note that if the camper top has silicone seam sealer, Lizard Skin will not stick to this. Here is a note from Lizard Skin: If you are concerned about cold weather insulation, we recommend you use LizardSkin-CI in combination with a more traditional insulation method (Polystyrene XPS board, Thinsulate, etc.). This gives you both hot and cold weather performance and minimize the impact of condensation that can form in a camper and damage traditional insulation materials.
