With use the blackening solution loses its strength and eventually, needs to be replaced with replacement Blackening Solution Concentrate (10113ZB).
This system is appropriate for applying a non-dimensional black oxide finish to steel and iron. This system is NOT for use on aluminum, brass, copper,or stainless steel. Steel and iron parts to be blackened need to be thoroughly cleaned by removing all grease and other coatings down to bare metal. Cleaning with a solvent like Low VOC PRE (11949Z), and chemically cleaning with Fast Etch gallon, is recommended to assure than an even blackened coating is achieved. Rinse coated parts in water, and force dry then spray with Diamond Clear Satin for Bare Metal.
