Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice rivet gun Just replaced 29 3/16" rivets today in a '76 18ft. Starcraft Holiday. Tool is light and easy to use. Sets rivets quickly with a short pull on the trigger. My first time setting solid rivets and with a little practice it went well. I would recommend this fir anyone who may need to occasionally set rivets. I know I'll be looking for other things needing rivets now.

Isn't this just an air hammer?  The one I have looks just like it and I would much rather buy the tool that goes in it to put solid rivets in a 29 model a coupe instead of spending 175 bucks on a whole kit

Asked by: Justin636
While you could use a standard air hammer in a pinch but a rivet gun works so much better.  For one you get more short strokes per minutes and it’s completely controllable as it has a variable speed trigger.

Will this gun work with Semi-Tubular Rivets?

Asked by: HandGman
In using both the tubular rivets you speak about and solid rivet guns I would say you could use it with a splash anvil but you would have to modify a insert.

Most other guns come with a rating applied to them. Is this gun equivalent to a 2x? 3x? How would it compare?

Asked by: Jordan
This is the same Rivet Gun we use in our 20127 Solid Rivet Kit. Compared to an Air Hammer that have a long stroke and slow (Usually like a 1" stroke @ 1200 BPM (beats per minute) this Rivet Gun has a short stroke of 1/4" @ 4500 BPM. This tool runs @ 4500 BPM.

Can I use this like an air hammer and use air chisel shanks?

Asked by: llanju3
While the shanks will fit this tool doesn't "hammer" quite the same as a true air hammer. It might not have quite the same hard hitting power you're expecting.

where can i buy the different size rivet tips? i'm looking to install a 5/16 solid steel rivet.

Asked by: Mon23
Since this would be outside our product lineup we could only recommend an internet search for the size rivet set you're looking for.
