About POR-15 Black Rust Paint Quart
POR-15® is a high-tech, high performance rust-preventive coating designed for application directly on rusted or seasoned metal surfaces. It dries to an incredible rock-hard, non-porous finish that won't chip, crack, or peel, and it prevents rust from recurring by protecting metal from further exposure to moisture. Use it to coat rusty frames, floor pans, farm equipment, marine equipment, or even a heavily corroded battery tray. POR-15® is sensitive to UV light (sun) and must be top coated for prolonged exposure to sunlight.Top coating is not required for areas not exposed to sunlight.

POR-15 Great Product
Review by Dennis -
Price Value Quality The more I use POR-15 the more I like it. I use it on trailer frames from tongues to bumpers. It works great on wood. I use it to seal marine plywood edges and any holes. This is the most self leveling/thin paint I have used. A small amount goes a long way. Wear Protection. Get disposable gloves and long sleeve shirt. If you get this stuff on you or almost anything else and don't get it off immediately, you will have to wear it for a week or so. It bonds to your skin like no other product I have ever used. This is not like any other paint. You must read and follow the directions completely. Great stuff.

Quality Price Value Used for a 1965 mustang rebuild worked good on bare repair panels and rusted ares. If this product did not work for someone it was appied wrong surface prep is important,,must use marine clean to degrease and clean area to be painted. Also have used to repaint tandem dump trailer that gets USED. Finish is rock hard and stays, does not scratch and chip like other products I have tried

Good Product

Price Value Quality I have used this product several times.. I feel it works very well.. The last project was on my 2005 F-150 underside where one piece of metal was attached to another,, some rust was forming at these seams.. I brushed it into these areas and the product overlapped onto a factory painted surface and it is still holding very well..
I have used it on rusty surfaces and some bare metal areas on the same projects and noticed the bare metal area would maybe not cover totally on the first coat.. After a day to dry I would coat again with a second coat and it looked very good and seems to hold up to the harsh elements of the road spray (underside of two car trailers)...... Yes it does dry a little slow,, but overnight and it's ready to use or recoat..... Overall I still like the product,, POR-15.......... -

Good Product

Quality Price Value As Steve indicated, he did not use the product correctly. Please read the directions, POR is not designed to adhere to bare metal.
I used POR on my rusty underbody and it adhered perfectly and is hard as a rock.
If you're working on a resto project where it needs to be perfect, POR is not your product. This is for vehicles that have some rust and you want to seal it up to protect it from the environment and further corrosion. -

Warning

Quality Price Value Cleaned 1957 Chevy Nomad to bare steel and painted on. Got streaks, bubbles and still hasn't dried after one day. Would use this product on something covered with rust trying to flip real quick. My problem will be removing this from my current project. My regret is not trying the recommended test spot. This product is like tar and I don't recommend for a real restoration project.
