Pump for Parts Washer is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product I've been searching for a top quality parts washer for quite a while and most of the small units had poor reviews. This washer is one of the finest products I've ever owned. I especially appreciate how easy it is to remove the pump assembly. I also like the hose/brush attachment, which makes pays cleaning a breeze. Because my bike shop is lacking for space, I attached the washer to a platform with wheels so I can roll it around. I highly recommend this parts washer to anyone looking for a top quality product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Messy to drain Everything seems good except that the drain plug is a bolt thread with an o-ring. To drain it you have to remove the plug and drain it a little at a time with a bucket on the bottom shelf. It would be much better with a pipe thread so an extension with a ball valve could be installed to make draining less of a mess.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 20 gallon Parts Washer -- FANTASTIC This is probably one of the most used tools in my shop as I restore a 1st series 1955 Chevrolet pickup. It was very easy to assemble right out of the box. It is durable and steady on the floor. The height off the floor is right when cleaning parts. Don't make the same mistake I made, WEAR GLOVES. I didn't and the particular water based cleaner I was using burned my hands. Two features I like are the removable tray and the small parts box. Both are slotted and allow you to scrub, rinse and clean as you go. Being able to take the tray out is good when you are working with larger parts. As far as value for the dollar, I really do not think you can beat it. It is very well made and it certainly does the job. On the old parts that have a build up of grease, dirt and grime I usually let them soak for several days. This parts washer will continue to get plenty of use and I look forward to many years of use.

What kind of fluid is recommended for parts washing?

Asked by: Todd M
Oil Eater Cleaner/Degreaser is my choice. Oil Eater’s proprietary corrosion inhibiting formula allows for use in a multitude of parts washer types. Start with the following dilutions for parts washing: Flex Line/Sink Style/Brake Washer/Hand Washing: 3 to 4 parts water to 1 part Oil Eater. Ultrasonic unit: 20 to 25 parts water to 1 part Oil Eater. Heated Dip Tank: 30 to 40 parts water to 1 part Oil Eater. Agitating Unit: 40 to 50 waters water to 1 part Oil Eater. Spray Wash Cabinet: 70 to 100 parts water to one part Oil Eater. If your parts come out of the bath feeling slippery or you have a white residue, you have used a little too much Oil Eater---add more water. When you have Oil Eater proper diluted with water, the water will keep the oil/grease/etc. in suspension away from the part. Another benefit from proper dilution is that when not in use, Oil Eater will release the oil. The oil will rise to the surface. So when you turn your parts washer off for the day you can use a skimmer or simply put an “oil only” absorbent in the reservoir & the oil that has risen to the surface will be removed from the solution helping your solution last longer. If Oil Eater is needed at a stronger dilution than above & foaming is an issue, a defoamer can be used without affecting the effectiveness of Oil Eater. If your unit is filtered, use a 50 micron or above filter, or you will filter out the solids that make Oil Eater work.

Does anyone know how much weight the parts washer can hold? I have a motorcycle transmission that I would like to set inside it to clean, it probably weighs 100lbs. Thanks

Asked by: JTLancaster
Because of the perforated tray area in the left of the unit; it is not recommended to use anything over 25 lbs in it. If you remove this tray and bin, it should be able to hold anything around 100 lbs. or less.

I am wanting to use this machine to clean my weapons. Can I use an oil based cleaner such as M-pro 7. If not can you recommend a good water based cleaner to clean weapons with?

Asked by: jfish
No solvent or petroleum based cleaners to be used with the parts washer. I would recommend using the metal wash or POR 15 marine clean.

Are replacement fluid filters available for this parts washer? The unit works very well for what I do but I have definitely surpassed the filters life and do not want the pump to burn out or run without one. Need to buy replacements.

Asked by: gearhead4
Eastwood does not offer replacement filters, as these are washable. I spoke to the Product Manager and he said that this filter material is available at many supply house in sheets that can be cut to fit. Here are some MSC #'s to help you out. 32976219, 32976201, 00626812
