Customer Review: "I'm building a 1969 Yenko Camaro. I have the subframe and arms powder coated. I used Underhood Black on the engine bay and the underfloor. You cannot tell the difference between the powder coating and the Eastwood paint...amazing results! Looks factory-new now."

About Underhood Black Semi Gloss Aerosol 11 ounce

Underhood Black is the correct shade of black underhood paint, having just the right 10-20 percent semi-gloss finish most car manufacturers use for engine-compartment paint on radiator supports, inner fender walls, lug wrenches, jack bases, underhood brackets and other parts. Black underhood paints from typical hardware stores are either too thick, too glossy, or the wrong color.

Just clean, degrease, and prepare the parts well (use our Self-Etching Primers), then spray-on this engine-compartment paint for a professional, factory-like, underhood paint finish. Acrylic lacquer withstands up to 250 degrees F and goes on thin for a satin-smooth finish that doesn’t hide surface details. Do not use with enamel primers. One 11-oz. aerosol can covers 6 square feet. Made in the USA.

Due to regulations pertaining to paint recycling, at this time we are unable to ship this product to Alberta, Canada.
One 11-oz. aerosol can of Underhood Black covers 6 sq. ft. For larger surface areas up to 48 sq. ft., use the quart size of 10045ZP Underhood Black Semi-Gloss (Qt.).
Q. How do I apply this underhood paint?
A. Surface must be clean, dry, and free of dirt, grease and oil. For maximum protection, first prime with a self-etching primer or epoxy primer before top-coating. For best results, use when can is between 70 and 90 degreesF. This engine-compartment paint may be used over self-etching primer or Rust Encapsulator.
  • Always wear eye, skin and respiratory protection when using this product.Always use in a well ventilated area, away from open flames. Consult MSDS for specific warnings and precautions

I like the looks and texture of this paint and it appears tough as nails after it has had a chance to dry and age.
