About Underhood Black Semi Gloss Aerosol 11 ounce
Underhood Black is the correct shade of black underhood paint, having just the right 10-20 percent semi-gloss finish most car manufacturers use for engine-compartment paint on radiator supports, inner fender walls, lug wrenches, jack bases, underhood brackets and other parts. Black underhood paints from typical hardware stores are either too thick, too glossy, or the wrong color.
Just clean, degrease, and prepare the parts well (use our Self-Etching Primers), then spray-on this engine-compartment paint for a professional, factory-like, underhood paint finish. Acrylic lacquer withstands up to 250 degrees F and goes on thin for a satin-smooth finish that doesn’t hide surface details. Do not use with enamel primers. One 11-oz. aerosol can covers 6 square feet. Made in the USA.
Due to regulations pertaining to paint recycling, at this time we are unable to ship this product to Alberta, Canada.
One 11-oz. aerosol can of Underhood Black covers 6 sq. ft. For larger surface areas up to 48 sq. ft., use the quart size of 10045ZP Underhood Black Semi-Gloss (Qt.).

Q. How do I apply this underhood paint?
A. Surface must be clean, dry, and free of dirt, grease and oil. For maximum protection, first prime with a self-etching primer or epoxy primer before top-coating. For best results, use when can is between 70 and 90 degreesF. This engine-compartment paint may be used over self-etching primer or Rust Encapsulator.

Love the color, but I was expecting more quality, being under the hood paint it should be able to resist gasoline, it doesn't, it comes off with gasoline.Price Value Quality -
nice looking paint but....

Painted the air filter and inside fenders on my 67 F100, the look is fenomenal but the quality....I needed to put gas in the carburator and spill some on the air cleaner and inner fender, the paint just came right off! even thou it had been a month since I painted it! how can it be "under the hood paint" when you know it comes off with gasoline?Price Value Quality -

Waste of money! Twelve dollars and change for a 12oz can of paint. Not to mention 9.95 for shipping?Value Quality Price
22.00 for 12 oz. of paint that sprayed on so dry that I had to get two inches from the part just to get the material to flow. And a week later I can scrape it off with my finger nail. Now I have to strip the part and do the job over when the part was already sand blasted to bare metal. Overpriced Eastwood crap. Never again. From now on I use automotive quality paint only. -
Very nice finish

As with all Eastwood aerosol paint, it sprayed wonderfully. I only would like to add: do not use this on clean, bare metal without self-etching primer! It will scratch off without it. With the primer, it has proven quite durable and stands up to a lot of heat.Quality Price Value -

I have used at least six cans. They blend well and match the original color. They dry quickly and I have used them on other projects other than cars where I want a durable low gloss color.Quality Price Value -

We use both the aerosol (small parts, water pump. etc) and the uart thru a spray gun (inner fenders) on my 1968 Firebird. Smooth finish, easy to apply, would recommend it to anyone for a quality restoration. Very pleased with the product!Price Value Quality -

This worked great under the hood of my 69 Fury. I used two different brands of paint under the hood for varying effects of gloss and I should have just used all Eastwood. Went on great and dried fast. The difference was amazing and really made the engine bay look great.Value Quality Price -
Good finish, but doesn't cover well

This paint leaves a nice final finish, but be aware that it doesn't cover well. It seems to have a low solids content, and requires lots of coats to black out a part. I recommend applying black primer first, before applying this paint.Value Quality Price
