About Eastwood PRE Painting Prep Gallon

PRE Painting Prep is very easy to use: just apply and wipe off. Works better than lacquer thinner, which can leave a thin residue on the surface that could interfere with paint adhesion. 1-gallon can.

Works better than lacquer thinner that can leave a film behind, possibly compromising paint adhesion. Use to prepare surfaces for all Eastwood paints, including our exhaust manifold paints. On waxed areas, or surfaces that may have silicones, more than one application may be necessary.

PRE Painting Prep is a blend of solvents that may damage plastic, so please test first.

Use in a well-ventilated area, or wear a respirator.

I bought a small amount of the PRE to see if I liked the product and how well it worked. Now I buy it by the gallon and use it before any painting. I use it after sand blasting or the solvent tank to remove all dust, grease, residue, etc. Then I use the compressor to blow all of the PRE out of any small areas so that the piece is totally dry. It is a bit pricey so definitely buy the gallon as it takes a fair bit to rinse a part. I would love to see it for cheaper but either way I highly recommend this for any painting prep.

This is my first large purchase of Pre, but I've used plenty of it in aerosol & I have to say that it works very well as your final step before painting or finishing. I use it quite often to clean up any residue that's left over after polishing aluminum & it's never disappointed.

I'd highly recommend this if you do a lot of painting, polishing, or any other refinishing jobs that require a properly-prepped surface to yield an end result that looks professional & one that lasts for years.

PRE has been very effective in eliminating grease and oil from surfaces that I need to paint. It also serves as a general parts cleaner.
PRE really prepares a metallic surface if you apply it with a very fine grit paper. Nitrile gloves are a necessity for product use.
