About Plugweld Pliers
Plug welds are often easier to produce and stronger than spot welds, so many body panels can be attached this way. The copper-alloy swivel back pad eliminates the problem of burn-thru because it absorbs excess heat; also, the weld will not stick to the copper pad. "U"-shaped movable jaw provides even clamping pressure around the spot to be welded. Imported.

I tried the Plugweld Pliers when I received them but after I modified them with an additional piece of copper wrapped around the copper pad in order to protect it and extend its life.Price Value Quality
The tool makes a quick work of welding a standing flange of sheetmetal when a small hole is added to the top piece to weld through.

The pliers depicted are Knipex, also rebranded and sold by Snap-on and Stanley/ Proto. These are most likely made by Steck. Knipex have an extended lock release lever that pulls toward the adjuster to release whereas the pliers Eastwood actually sell have a short lever that pulls away from the adjuster similar to Vise Grip style locking pliers. They're still decent quality but you ought to be aware. These weren't accurately depicted and because so I was disappointed when they arrived.Value Quality Price -

During the restoration of my Mustang I purchased these pliers primarily to re-attach the upper cowl, and quickly realized how useful they were for other projects. Considering the cost to pay a body shop to weld over 200 spotwelds, I felt like it was a good investment for my hobby shop. The beauty of these pliers is it prevents blow-through when using a MIG welder, because sometimes when initially drilling out the spot welds the lower attachment point can become compromised.Price Value Quality
