About Tank Tone Metallic Coating Aerosol 13 oz
This is not ordinary silver gas tank paint! This epoxy fuel-tank paint actually contains zinc to protect your gas tank from rust. Since many gas tanks came from the factory with a similar coating, spraying-on a fuel-tank paint is a natural part of your gas-tank restoration project.
For best results, remove all paint and undercoating from the tank before spraying this gas-tank paint. Works well over minor surface rust and helps stop its spread, to make your undercarriage detailing truly the best. Two cans are recommended for complete coverage on the average tank. No primer needed. Maximum temperature 300 degreesF.
Due to regulations pertaining to paint recycling, at this time we are unable to ship this product to Alberta, Canada.
13-oz. aerosol can covers approximately 8 sq. ft., so you'll need 2 cans for complete coverage while completing an average gas tank restoration.
Use in a well-ventilated area, and wear a respirator (like our 11455, 11456 SAS Bandit Respirators).

Great product and serviceQuality Price Value
I bought Tank Tone Metallic Coating and used it to paint my gas tank but liked the look of it so much I used it to paint my old steel chevrolet valve covers that Im using on a vintage sprint car motor. I didnt have aluminum covers but wanted the look of the old aluminum covers and Tank Tone achieved the look. Thank you -

Based on the dealer info, i bought 2 cans. One can was plenty for two very nice coats. the paint coves well and looks great. I would wait for a shipping deal, tho. $10 to ship 2 cans of spray paint is a bit much.Price Value Quality -

Had enough paint in one can to do my 14 gal tank and the straps. Came out nice, looks like new. Spray came out in blobs at times, but not a real issue.Price Value Quality -

tank came out like new, its all in the prep though.Quality Price Value
Applied in some rather brutal conditions ie very cold and unheated area. But used a space heater to set the paint. One can did a 17 gallon tank with no shortage and 3 coats. -

The paint turned out very nicely. the only draw back was that the spray button was very hard to press down and my finger became fatuiged very easily. Other than that it went on nice ,covered very well, and dryed tho a nice silver sheen. I would us it again.Price Value Quality -

cold and had to dry with a heat gun and kerosene salamander. But the finish was outstanding.
60 year old tank looks better than it ever did.
