About Metal Blackening Kit with Diamond Clear

Automakers have long used black oxide as a hardware coating. This economical black semi-gloss finish is often used on latches, hardware, brackets and many other automotive parts, and now you can reproduce the OEM look of black oxide in your own shop.

Kit cannot be shipped to California. Also, due to regulations pertaining to paint recycling, at this time we are unable to ship this product to Alberta, Canada.

Includes one pint of Blackening Solution Concentrate, 11-oz. Diamond Clear Satin aerosol, 11-oz. PRE Painting Prep aerosol, pair of disposable gloves, goggles, process containers and complete instructions.

I used this product to restore the appearence of some VW CV joints as well as the socket head bolts. I did not like the bare metal appearence after I sand blasted them. This product made them look stock again. I will definately buy more.

I used this product as directed however the parts started rusting just sitting on the shelf. Initially they looked good, but now I have to go back and reassemble everything to treat the rust and use a different product. Don't waist your time or money.

Just starting the re-assembly of my 1971 Chevy C10 and wanted an alternative to purchasing new hardware for my project. I used the product to blacken the existing hardware. After wire-wheeling, I followed the supplied directions and was very impressed with the results. Was able to treat about 50-60 pieces (drying time included) within about 1.5 hours and have plenty of spray remaining for another batch.

After sand blasting the car parts I used this product to blacked it just like the original on a 69 Camaro. It worked just as promised. A friend that works at a shop that restores vehicles, stated that it works better than the product they are currently using.
