About Eastwood 7-Piece Hammer & Dolly Set - Fiberglass Handles

Tools feature forged, polished and hardened work surfaces for precision metal shaping and maximum durability. Cushioned fiberglass handles are securely mounted with round edges that uniformly anchor the heads.
3 Hammers: shrinking/skinning, cross chisel, pick. 4 Dollies: roof wedge anvil block, heel block, general purpose, double-end hand.
  • Pick Hammer – Blunt point for raising low points and finessing character lines. Smooth, general-finishing face.
  • Cross-Chisel Hammer – Chisel head provides access to tight inside corners. Smooth, convex face for general finishing.
  • Shrinking/Skinning Hammer – Cross-hatched face for shrinking work on large, flatter surfaces. Skinning head for installing door skins, working high crown areas and character lines.
  • Heel Dolly – Works well on larger curved surfaces and sharp inside corners.
  • Toe Block – For smoothing larger expanses. Sharp edges for corner work, straight edges for working flanges. Thin for access to tight areas.
  • Edge Block – Works well for straightening or forming sharp edges.
  • General-Purpose Dolly – Cantilevered edges for access to deeply recessed corners and lips. Integral hand-hold and mass are ideal for back-up on heavier hammer strikes.
Always wear eye and skin protection when working with metal.

I got these on sale for $50 and am pretty happy with them but they are nicked up a bit here and there and seem to be just a step above the $25-30 sets you find. Great buy on sale for sure, glad I didn't pay the full $80 for them though.
Good for the price. (Posted on 3/28/13)

I received my set a few weeks ago. Upon arrival
the plastic case was damaged badly on one corner. I called Eastwood and they asked me to send it back. They would send me a new set and they would refund my return shipping for the damaged set. The customer service people were very nice and were helpful. The damaged set was delivered back to them on Monday and today is Thurs. haven't seen the refund yet. The tools are nice for the money, I am not someone that will use them everyday but wanted on hand when I need them. Buy them on sale and you can't go wrong.

The clear on the hammers and dollies is prone to chipping and coming off, the fiberglas handles and grips don't give the feel of hickory... but worked well enough.

the surfaces of the finishing hammer and spoon needed to get cleaned up, have their clear coat stripped (it was textured and chipped easily), and the finishing hammer's surface needed to be reshaped as it wasn't nearly flat enough.

lastly, i was looking forward to the blow mould case they tools are photographed in.. though the case did not come with the tools. the tools were packed well inside of a box with open cell foam... which isn't terrible for shipping or long term storage... but for day to day use, the case would have been great.
