About Eastwood Hot Stapler Plastic Repair System

As you hold the wand in position and press the button, the attached staple heats up. When you see it start to melt the plastic, simply push it halfway into the plastic. The staple will be fused into the damaged, broken or cracked plastic, and as the staple and plastic cool, they create a reinforced bridge between the two sections, restoring the plastic part to its original strength. Three heat settings allow you to work on a variety of plastic materials. 3 types of 1/2"-wide stainless steel staples (flat, wave and corner) for wide, tight or corner applications. Wand holds the staple at 45°, 90°, or 180° angles.

Use to repair urethane bumper covers, broken or torn tabs, consoles and dashes, plastic toolboxes, headlamp assemblies and more.

If you have never seen this unit or used it you are in for a big surprise. It is worth its weight in gold. With so much in the world made with plastic, you can do some nice strong repairs that would otherwise be impossible. Bumper covers are the obvious one but I have repair garbage cans, lawn furniture, toys, tractor parts, mower parts. It is easy to use and combined with the plastic welder will do a real nice job. Go for it !

I just used it to repair a Doge Ram dashboard top cracked in preparation to install an ABS cap on it. The dash was all cracked in pieces and it is cheaper to install an ABS cap then buying a new one, but in order for the cap to have a solid base you need to repair the cracked up part first. Glue or epoxy will not work and would take forever to use. With this tool I repaired the cracked up dash in less than an hour and it is plenty strong. Even the screw bosses that where broken are on as strong as new.
I am always repairing plastic parts and in the past I used epoxy and even melted wire into the part, but that did not always work well. With this tool repairing plastic is easy!! I just bought mine on sale so that made it an even better deal for the price.

Our ATS get into to trouble all by themselves and plastic gets cracked and broken. I have a plastic welder but this little tool is slick. My ATV is painted so the plastic welder is a problem to use without removing the paint in the area of the crack. With this tool I use from the underside and it does not mess up the paint. I believe it will be a very cost effective repair and easy to use.

What time saver. Instead of useing fiberglass and waiting hours for it to dry. I just did a 2' long crack in a fan shroud in 20 min. Very strong results.
Very easy to use. Nice tool box it comes in.
Tips cool down very quickly. Was worth the invesstment for me. The original price is a bit much.
The $150.00 is right on the head for this.
Would have prefured the yellow handel wand instead of the black one I got just for safty sake.

I ordered this tool with no project in mind. I just thought it would be a great tool to have if the opportunity came up. I volunteered to repair a moped for a family that did not have the funds to have it fixed. I fixed the mechanical part right away, but the plastic shields were badly cracked. So I used my new plastic hot stapler tool I just purchased. It was great. It was easy to use. And in under a hour I fixed all the shields with ease. Watch the video. It works that easy. I was amazed. If you work on anything that has plastic, I believe you stand a good chance of fixing it with this tool. I applaud Eastwood. This is a great tool to have in your shop.
