Clear Fluid Film is a lanolin-based, solvent-free, corrosion preventative and lubricant that has many uses. We have found it makes a great once a year undercoating for your restored, late model, or survivor vehicle. It will not dry out or evaporate, is safe on paint, electronics, plastics and most oil resistant synthetic rubbers and will not freeze. Fluid Film stops rust on contact, prevents rust on all metals and lubricates moving parts in extreme conditions. It penetrates to free up frozen or rusty parts and can even be used as a release agent for snow and ice during winter.

This stuff stays very oily. I thought it would dry somewhat to a waxy kind of film but it stays oily.
I could see this film easily being flung from a fast moving part and also collecting a lot of dirt and dust.
I'm sure it will protect and lubricate a stationary part quite well, if you're not going to be touching or rubbing up against it. Even an accidental bump will result in this stuff transferring.

This is a great product, especially for rust prevention. It has a kind of funky smell that actually grows on ya, (everyone I know who uses this product LOVES the smell). I use it on all my spreaders, mowers, vehicles, and for numerous garage products. I actually like it better than cutting oil for cutting threads. Great all around product. I always carry a can on my truck and have a case in my garage.
