About Eastwood TIG Welder, Plasma Cutter & Cart Kit

    TIG200 Welder
Weld it all with the Eastwood TIG200 200AMP welder! The TIG200 features an AC/DC switch that allows both steels and aluminum to be welded with the same machine. With a 14' torch and a 10' ground cable, you'll be able to get into any space with this exceptional welding machine. It has pre/post flow adjustment knobs to protect your weld and torch. If that's not enough, it even has a foot pedal to control amperage so you can get going quickly and not need to dial-in the machine for a specific material. Included is the TIG200, torch, ground cable/clamp, regulator/hose, and is powered through a NEMA50 plug.

    Plasma Cutter
This innovative, affordable, best plasma cutter was designed and developed by Eastwood's own R&D staff, and tested in-house on the same type of real-life projects you'll use it for. It doesn't matter where you need to work, because this plasma cutter's voltage-sensing technology lets you use either a 110v or 220v outlet with our adapter cord. Works with any standard home- or shop-type air compressor within a range of 20-65 psi; internal moisture separator ensures dry air is delivered to the torch. Rated 140 volts at 40 amps. Duty cycle: 60% at 40 amps. Weighs less than 30 lbs., for easier portability.

    Multi-Unit Cart
This welding cart was designed to make storage, accessibility and maneuverability of your welder and cutter easier than ever before when metalworking. This cart incorporates a top shelf which will hold our MIG135, MIG175 or TIG-200 welder. The bottom shelf will store your Versa-Cut Plasma Cutter, while the middle shelf allows storage of necessary welding accessories. The Gas Bottle Mount even incorporates a TIG Rod Holder to store up to 6 different tubes of filler rods. Assembles with simple hand tools.

What is "Plasma Cutting"? Plasma cutting utilizes a high-velocity jet of ionized gas (plasma) that conducts electricity from the torch of the plasma cutter to your metal workpiece. That directed plasma stream (about 30,000° F) heats the workpiece, converting the metal to molten slag. That high-velocity stream literally blows the molten metal away, leaving a clean, precise cut.

I bought the combo kit and have used the plasma cutter several times. On 220 it smoked thru a big truck frame and motor home frame like nothing. on 110v it would cut for 20 seconds and trip the breaker. replaced breaker and same results. added 220v plug and no problems since

Got this setup 9 months ago I have about 30 + hours weld time with both aluminum and steel. The plas. was a bit of let down it just cant cut 3/8 well 1/4 in. is it's cap for a good clean cuts. This was a good enough set up I talked my boss in to getting one for the shop except he upgraded to the 60 amp plas. Over all 5 star package

I needed the ability to weld and cut aluminum without the price or complication of the "blue" and "red" boxes. I have a few minor gripes about both machines but can live with them based on price point! First off, the Tig unit is physically large. This may be good (lots of cooling area inside) but if you are thinking about being able to use a "mig" cart with this unit, think again. Get the Eastwood tig cart with the flat top which is made for it. The electrode connection point on the front of the machine is not a standard size (dinse being standard) so fitting any other torches to the machine is going to be a challenge. The foot pedal has two cables running out of it to the welder. These are loose from the factory, nothing major I just ziptied them together. The literature with the machine is fuzzy about the ability to use alloyed tungstens (lanthanated and ceriated in particular). I haven't had the machine long enough to explore all possible combinations of tungstens to see what it works best with but I will be before long. The plasma cutter is phyiscally very small for such output. The 40 amp machine is rated at 3/8" severence and I believe that's selling it short. I was able to whiz through 1/4" steel quickly. I LOVE the pilot arc feature on the plasma, my older plasma had no pilot feature so it was basically a "lift arc" plasma torch. It resulted in a lot of cutter tip replacements due to fouling from blowback. So far I've sliced through aluminum plate, steel plate, and steel tube with the plasma and it handled them all easily. As others have mentioned, the "helmet" they provide the machines with is utterly useless. Eastwood would be better off just not even including it and warning potential buyers that they needed to purchase a true welders helmet before using the product. Other than these small complaints, I'm very pleased with all three components in this bundle. They all worked straight out of the box and functioned as promised.

I am pleased with the TIG and Plasma cart combo. It is a good value and performs well. However, about a half-hour after beginning to use the TIG, the argon regulator gauge ceased to go below 40. The gas still flowed, but I couldn't tell what the pressure really was. The regulator looks a little on the cheap side, so I decided not to bother with the hassle of getting a replacement and bought a more professional regulator.

I bought this product to add to my garage... Seems to be an okay product but NOT WORTH THE $2400 that was charged to my credit card. FIRST and LAST time I will EVER BUY anything from this COMPANY!!!!! My credit card statement says I was charged twice for this product... But EASTSIDE says I was only charged once... Who am I to believe, What is clearly in black and white with my credit card statement or the Packing Slip from Eastwood that has $1,199.99 printed THREE times on it and says I was only charged once?!?!

I hate to be that guy who comes flying in with nothing but bad things to say, but I have no choice. I am extremely frustrated with this combo. I purchased this based off reviews and went into it knowing that it was sort of a gamble, but knew that if I got a defective machine, Eastwood would be quick to replace it. Well the TIG welder went out on me during my second time using it. I had to dig through my rafters for the packaging and box everything back up and ship it out before Eastwood would send me a new one. A month passed and I finally got my new TIG and it's been working fine but I'll always be a bit hesitant about it.

Then I tried out the plasma cutter. Set everything up and let it rip, a mere 5 seconds later it stops working. Frustrated, I emailed Eastwood and he said the torch sounds bad and that he'll send a new one. 3 weeks later it arrives, I set everything up and it stopped working after 3 cuts! I don't even want to try to replace this thing, I want it out of my life forever and will look elsewhere to invest my hard earned money. This is just unacceptable, how can these products be this inconsistent? I have wasted more time dealing with the dilemmas of this combo than actually using it. You might have better luck than me but I just don't think it's right to sell a product that is so unpredictable. I wish I would've waited a little longer and spent a little more on something that will actually work.

The plasma cutter had internal air leaks. Tried to get to the "legendary" customer service but the calls went to voice mail and the voice mail box was full multiple times. Finally left a couple messages but no return calls ever came. Didn't want to return the entire box so I took the cover off and found the brass fittings were as tight as they could be, had Teflon tape on them and were CAULKED and worthless. The 2 between the air filter and the entrance to the air gauge adjustment leaked air like they were hand tight. spend 2 hours getting parts and replacing them.
The cart went together easyly but it was a bolt and a nut shorrt so that was another trip to Ace.
I havent even turned the TIG on yet so I'm not sure about it.
