It's a nice compact little unit. On light steel and aluminum it's great. PRL

The design of the brake is good and in theory should work well but I did not try it. The brake had numerous manufacturing defects in the low quality mild steel that would affect its ability to form proper bends. Had someone had the concern to glance at the brake before it was shipped, the defects and bulges in the steel on the clamping surface are obvious. It just shows no concern for the product they are shipping. Save your money and buy something else.

I really like the size and design of the Versa-bend. The quality of the welding leaves much to be desired. The first bend, 4" 22g cold rolled steel was too much for one of the welds. Live and learn

Brake was effectively packaged and easy to assemble. Beyond assembly, little instruction was provided with the unit, but use is simple so not a lot needed. Tried 20 gauge bends, worked like a charm. Tried 18 gauge, 6" wide bend, finished product was on target but I started feeling the stress on the unit. I believe their recommendation to stay below 12" wide 18 gauge bends is on target. The problem is not the bending table, but the top clamp. It would need extra gussetting, bracing to handle wider 18" gauge bends or heavier material. But if you need to do that kind of work, then you really need a floor brake. This will be an often used tool in my shop, I will need to retire my 6" vice and hammer, Ha.

We've used this tool around the shop for small fabrication jobs, and it works great. Bends are tight when used within the tools specified range, and for the money you can't really do much better.

I only recently used it to make a small bracket for my shop. It worked as expected and i was pleased with the outcome. My only regret is it would be even more handy if it could accommodate material at least 24in long. Needed to rebuild my snowshovel edge and it wasn't quite long enough to work out. Oh well, i just had to be resourceful!

The Veras Bend is a good design. The only problem is quality. Tack welds, poor penatration, unfinished threads - typical China junk. My Harbor Freight benders have clean, complete welds and are better finished.
I would return this tool, but I already paid nearly $60 in shipping and would pay that again to return it.
I have been buying from Eastwood for 10 years and this is my first disappointment. I am sure that there is a small job shop in PA that could procude a quality bender for a reasonable price.
