the cam system on the slide is worthless, 2 cams lasted maybe 19 pins altogether using both sides.

welding nozzle almost NEVER works correctly on any curved or radiused surface.

pins melted too easily before getting enough penetration to avoid being ripped from the steel,

    slide itself works great.

will not likely be buying another one...

slide hammer itself works great, however the stud welder is "good" at best, and the the cam lock system for the slide hammer is absolutely useless. the slide was really the only part of this product that has proven to be of any real use...

The attachment to the welder is not great. The studs do not get welded like an electric kit meaning once you pull on the stud it releases. The studs have no grip on them and the slide pull hammer tip is horrible. Purchase a real electric stud welding and slide pull hammer kit.

The roller on the puller wears out fast and stops gripping, it is replaceable. They need to give you at least 10 extra wheels with a bag of 100 pins. I fixed this by welding a small pair of needle nose Vise Grips on the nose piece to pull the pins with. Problem solved. With the spot welding attachment I keep burning the heads off of the pins or not getting them stuck to the sheet metal securely. I have a HF mig welder and just don't have the proper adjustments available. I'm getting an Eastwood Mig 175 and see if its me or the welder that can't stick the pins right.
Just buy an actual stud welder... (Posted on 1/14/14)

I played around with this for several hours on a couple different occasions and had almost zero success. The welder attachment works "alright", but it is very difficult to get a solid weld to the body.

The build quality is solid, but it doesn't change that it doesn't work.

The slide hammer worked the first few times (although usually just ripped the pin off), then could never get a grip to the pins. Its a heavy item, so after shipping its an expensive paper weight in my garage.

    To summarize: save your money.

Hard to beat the price on these pins. Nice to have a little extra for when you need them.

Very disappointed in he adapter for the mig gun and the slide hammer. I practiced for over an hour using the adapter, I just couldn't get the tip vs stud vs mig wire to marry up. won't use it. As far as the slide hammer goes, disgusting. The head wouldn't catch the stud, the cam on the end of the slide hammer would NOT hold the stud. Talked with an Eastwood rep, he did replace the slide hammer with a better grade slide hammer, but I haven't used the new tool yet and I had to pay return shipping ($13.10) on the slide hammer that came with the kit. Poor business practice!

Again, tthe start of something good. Iwill be drill and tapping a large thunb screw to hold the studs and do awau with the cam lock which is engineedered at the scrong spirial, which is why it wears prematurely and does not griv properly. Bad design, fixable.

Watched the video, practiced on flat stock and similar metal, but when trying to use this in any areas that were other than very flat and wide access, the stud welds didn't take, or the stud posts didn't set

Ordered dent puller kit to work on father/son project truck. Could not justify cost of stand alone stud welder for such random, occasional use. We followed the instructions and the added warnings to keep the roller taught before slide hammering. Had no issues at all. It may help teach a little patience to some individuals.
